At the very least, two paddles should be used. If one of them is devoured by the monster; You'd be up the carpet without a paddle in no time.
Jane, it appears that I only have two more to give away. I'll get them up and running again today. Joe@Umaik
Yes, they are sold as a set of one paddle. I placed an order for two, but the quantity had to be adjusted.

These are of excellent craftsmanship. They are said to rub or change the color of your hands. They don't, and I'm here to tell you so! We just finished an 8-mile float in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm. Rather than a float trip, it was more like a paddle trip. These paddles worked out fantastically well. You should never rub your hands together or leave color on them. The stickers on the paddles were also a source of contention. What difference does it make? The stickers are very easy to remove and do not leave any sticky residue. These paddles are fantastic. Lightweight and tough, it's ideal for a lazy afternoon on the river!.
They also float, so there is no reason to buy any other paddles, especially at this price!! It's a product that you should buy and then forget about!!.
Paddler with some experience: It's a good deal. Overall, it is a good investment. It was a wise investment. We bought two for our 57" canoe. I would strongly suggest it.
For the money, it's a great deal. The only issue I have with these paddles is their small surface area. The blade is an 8", but it's a little short, so it doesn't have quite as much power as a higher-end paddle. Of course, you won't be paying top dollar for a paddle. While I wouldn't recommend anything smaller, this paddle is more than adequate and has the added advantage of being extremely durable. For the casual paddler, this is a fantastic value.
A good aluminum/plastic paddle for all-around canoeing is hard to beat for the money. The T- It's highly functional and comfortable to use because of the handle. You also don't have to be concerned about breaking it.
the blade shape is functional but a smidge smaller than the rest, making each stroke a little less productive. however, it is a very sturdy paddle that doesn't feel or show any real wear after some light use in our family canoe. 3 stars because of the blade design in comparison to others at a similar price.
Paddled the BWCA, lakes, and rivers for over 30 years. Paddles were used in a variety of ways. I am no longer a wood snob after trying out a variety of wood paddles, both inexpensive and expensive. The plastic paddle is far less difficult to clean. Pushing off will not cause any damage. There is no need for maintenance for a long period of time. There is no need to re-enter your information. After a trip, recoat and sand. Many salespeople will tell you that the problem with this paddle is that it flexes on the pull. Paddle strokes are very quick. Sizes were checked in stores before ordering online, and the service was quick and efficient.
We used to use the small wood oars, but they left blisters on my husband's hands and missed everyone. These oars haven't done that yet! These oars also have a thicker paddle on the end, which aids in rowing speed. These oars are far superior to the ones made of wood.
