At its widest point, the blade measures 6 7/8".
I haven't decided yet. I didn't get that with mine, but based on the hardware, I'm guessing it could be used to secure the paddle to the side of the boat or a storage compartment.
That's all right.

These are well-made, and I believe they are stout and of sufficient length for adults, but not for children. These do not have an adjustable length. They are, in my opinion, more utilitarian than wood paddles and have less aesthetic value. My canoe can also be described as utilitarian. I've used these on both lakes and fast-moving rivers (Yellowstone, Wenatchee), and they're great. Paddles are pricey, but these are on the lower end of the scale when compared to other paddles. For the kind of boating I do, I wouldn't want anything less. Fingerless gloves are best for long periods of paddling. I believe the size and durability would be sufficient to assist in the maneuvering of a larger power boat if necessary. They come highly recommended from me.
The paddle is the perfect size for my 15-foot canoe, and it also floats if you lose it in choppy river water.
I would buy it again and recommend it to others.
For proper paddling techniques, the handle is well-designed and comfortable.
These paddles are of excellent quality. They appear to be well-made and fit my 15-foot canoe perfectly. It's very sturdy but still manages to be light.
On my powerboat, I keep it as a backup paddle. Much better than my previous folding paddle.
