I'm guessing yes. , but they've been coated with polyurethane, which you'd have to remove and sand before staining.
It's a matter of taste, but it shouldn't be any worse than sanding any hardwood. It should be relatively simple to stain.
I was placing an order for my Newfoundland dog to compete in water rescue training, and I followed the rules exactly. The canoe will not be used. Sorry.

This is an excellent paddle; however, the one I received did not match the description. The image depicted a blade with a beavertail style, which was exactly what I was looking for. We did, however, receive a blade that was narrower than an otter tail. We were a little disappointed until we went on a day trip with it. The narrower blade is actually better for river running, as it's a little more robust for pushing against rocks and other obstacles, and it's a great value for the money.
Because we fish in shallow rivers, there are many boulders and rocks to contend with. Under these conditions, the plastic oars are prone to breakage. These wooden oars aren't too heavy, are long enough to hit bottom and redirect your raft in a pinch, and are strong enough to use as a lever if you're stuck or jammed up against a boulder in a strong current. They also float if one gets away from you, which is useful in whitewater when you lose your grip.
Definitely less expensive than others I looked at, and excellent quality for my purposes!.
Four people were given a 14' jonboat that was lightweight but maneuverable. I gave it a four-star rating because I believe it will need a coat of wood sealer after a few uses. Have you ever been perplexed by an oar's "Warmth" rating? There is no temperature variance because it is made of wood rather than aluminum.
There was only one of me- Normally, I travel alone. However, we had visitors, so I needed a second paddle. There's no reason to spend more money, and I got the five-foot paddle to match my other one. This one is a little smaller, but it still gets the job done. I would strongly suggest it.
I've used this product in the past and it lasted for decades. This is a replacement paddle for one that had been exposed to the elements for a long time and had finally cracked. Excellent product, which I would purchase again.
As stated in the title, the paddle came with a large gouge in the shaft, which is conveniently located where my hand is required. To make this paddle more comfortable to use, I'll need to fill it with wood filler or wrap it in fiberglass tape. The shaft's shape is also not my favorite; it's a little wide, and the oval shape makes paddling more difficult.
I was expecting a paddle with the brand label like the one in the photo, which I know is of good quality. However, the one I received is of poor quality, and, as someone else pointed out, it appears to have been stained on a beach on a particularly windy day.
