The shoes do not have a rubber coating. Fortunately, they didn't scratch my boat's paint, since I have tiedown hardware on the boat and trailer where the Tie down hooks can be attached.
There are a number of ties in this series It is recommended that downs be 12 inches long.
In this order, two of them are included.
I think it would work, even though it would be close. On my boat, the distance between the trailer eye and the boat eye is 16 inches and I have 7 inches of strap that can be used.

The way I tie down my bay boat is with this type of tie down. In my experience, I have used painted versions with rubber coated hooks, and they work fine but need replacing every season due to the corrosion saltwater causes. Neither of these is submerged in saltwater but they are exposed to it by dripping from what is left on the transom when on the In order to maximize their usefulness, I bought stainless straps that should last me for more than a season. I believe the only problem is that the hooks have a shallow bend and if the straps loosen or if the boat moves forward, it could cause them to come On these, there is very little room for error due to the shallow bend. In the future I will give these a 5 star rating if they had the same style hook as the rubber coated cheaper version. The bottom line is that these are heavy-duty and should last for a long time, while also securing my boat.
The hardware is very powerful and of excellent quality. These are about twice as expensive as painted and rubberized buckles, however, where I live (near the ocean), the painted buckles get rusty and nasty and become stiff and difficult to operate in a year or two. Additionally, it is common for cheapies to lose the plastic coating on the hooks as a result of abrasion and Stainless steel hardware of good quality should last for a long time This seems to be the case It is unlikely that I will buy a pair of ties It pays off to pay an extra amount annually since downs occur every year.
There used to be a set I had 15+ years ago that had galvanized buckles that worked, but they were pretty rugged because of Decided to upgrade to SS for this reason. There was nothing difficult about using the military style buckle, which was much lighter and much easier to lock tight. The smaller profile of the buckles makes it easier to adjust to fit directly across the flat area of the I felt the value for money was excellent. Upon only two trips, it is impossible to assess durability.
It had almost been all but impossible for me to use them in the marine environment. A single strap was all I had and I had to replace it every couple of These were worth a shot, and I'm glad I tried them. The stainless steel has not corroded.
This tool works great on 25 Sea Hunt. Be sure to observe the release etiquette, otherwise you might get bitten. It is enough to pull the tag end free with the buckle, you do not need.
I find the item's description on Amazon to be good. It was easy for me to purchase and obtain the right ones for my boat that way. Our salty weather here in lower Alabama makes SS the perfect choice.
However, the hook has a shallow bend, so they do not seem very well made. Occasionally, the strap on a boat may fall off due to settled water while in transit, resulting in the boat being towed.
If you want to stop your boat from jumping around, this is the way to do it.
