Because it's a diaphragm pump, it'll pulsate.
A 3/4" hose connection is available on our Gulper 220. To secure the hose, you can use a hose clamp.
The purpose of this pump is to remove grey water. For a fresh water hold tank, I would suggest our Whale Watermaster or Whale Universal pumps.

We're at capacity right now, so We've found that time liveaboards need to do a "rebuild" every 5 to 6 years (new valves and membrane), but this is simple to do and Whale sells a parts kit. After 16 years of continuous service, our original bilge pump failed (stripped gear), so we retired it and replaced it with a new one that was identical. This is the most reliable pump in this type of service that I've ever had in my 30 years of owning a large boat.
On a 30-year-old sailboat, I purchased this to replace a Jabsco sump pump. I expected a straightforward replacement with a pump that is less prone to clogging and consumes less power. This pump, on the other hand, will not work if the pump end is up. The entire installation is turned upside down when the pump is turned off.
This pump is serious about business; it self-primes, but it needs to be mounted to something sturdy or it will jump off and run down the road. It eats anything it can get its hands on. This thing has really impressed me; it's the first time I've seen something that just works.
In my Freedom 40/40, I use it for a shower. It's powerful, and it doesn't require the use of a screen. The previous pump required a screen, which was a PIA to clean every week or two. So far, it's been used for two seasons.
It's well-made, works well, and is relatively quiet. After two other gray water pumps failed one by one after a few years of use, I purchased this pump, despite the fact that it was significantly more expensive. So far, everything has gone well.
I bought this to use as a bilge pump on my sailboat. He does a fantastic job. I'm not concerned about the boat "choking" on paint or other flecks and materials because it's older.
These pumps are fantastic. When I have the opportunity, I make use of it.
It's nice and quiet!.
