My impeller replaced the one on the Sherwood raw water pump on my 1989 PCM Ford 351 engine. It works perfectly and the overheating problem has been resolved. It was 13 years old when it was replaced. I checked over the cooling system, which looked fine but had become stiff and was not pumping enough water. The impeller should be replaced every two years at the very least. The advice I received is something I will now follow.
It is far better to use the Sherwood brand impellers than the knock-offs We found Sherwood impellers to be far superior than off brands. If you have a Sherwood water pump, but Sherwood impellers, it would be worthwhile.
