Questions & Answers

How do Sea King engines differ from Johnson/Evinrude engines? What are the fuel connections for those engines?

The majority of Sea King outboards were made by Johnson/Evinrude from 1956 to 1986, but Chrysler also produced them. A fuel fitting of type 2 is installed There is more than likely no difference between J/E and this prong. It is likely to be the same as Chrysler if it has a single prong, as it looks like an air hose fitting. This is what the i is. Could you please explain how this hose works? I appreciate it. ?

Approximately 3/8 inch

The engine on my 1990 mercury 25hp is in good condition. Do these two things go together?

A fuel line assembly such as this is not for an outboard motor other than a Johnson or Evinrude. parts look like Mercury fuel fittings however, they will NOT fit Mercury outboards. You need Shoreline part number SL91569, which is the correct Mercury fuel line assembly for yours. You can find it in Amazon by searching for You will find the Mercury Bulb Fuel Line under the Fuel System heading. If you need any further assistance or trouble finding the correct fuel line please contact us I am 481-481

You will have a much more enjoyable boat trip if you invest a few extra dollars
3/5

Stupid piece of trash! I took the thing out on my first trip after installing it. I can't keep it primed, it loses gas flow when running, and the connector to the motor does not stay firmly connected. After priming the bulb or two more times in an attempt to return to the dock, I realized that gasoline was literally shooting out of the connection with each pump. A gas line caused serious problems when I was out on the water during very high boat traffic. I almost died as a result. You need to save your life and avoid buying this dangerous gas line. Spend a few extra dollars and have a safe outing. We also had to pull the boat with rope (with help from good samaritans) the last 30 or so feet to the dock and then manually pull it up onto the trailer because this piece of junk would not hold prime long enough for a final start. Perhaps I was simply too tired and disgusted to continue to try to squeeze a little power from the machine. That piece of junk is a real rip off.

When you have squeezed the bulb, wait a second or two before releasing it
3/5

This fuel line appears to be of good quality and worked on my Johnson just fine, but I almost returned it before I realized how to deal with an idiosyncrasy in this line. There was a problem with the primer bulb. When I troubleshot my tank to make sure it was all in working order (long, boring story), I found that if you pump this primer bulb quickly, the tank will not draw fuel from it. To remove the bulb, I had to squeeze it and hold it for a few seconds before releasing it. As soon as I started doing that, it filled the entire line in no time at all. The fuel lines in other cars I own have never exhibited this kind of behavior, but I paid twice the price Despite the purchase being pricey, I am pleased with it.

This is not a good buy

Junk like this isn't worth your time. In order to insert the tabs into the slot, the tabs that attach the motor or fuel tank had to be bent. Somewhere in the system is leaking air or the check valves are not working. In the end, the ball could not be A week went by before I was able to diagnose or repair In no way did I expect that it could be the new fuel line. After switching it out for an old line I already had, my motor is working perfectly again. Don't buy this.

I bought this Fuel Line from Amazon for my Evinrude outboard, but the product looks like good quality but actually does not work
3/5

bought a new fuel tank at my local sports store and a fuel line adapter for my Evinrude. My entire fuel system is new, because I didn't want issues with the gasoline on my outboard. When I connect my fuel line into the fuel tank and the outboard connector, the connectors from the fuel line do not seat properly. Large amounts of fuel leak from the connectors. Although I have the fuel line connected just to the fuel tank (and not to the outboard), gasoline continues to drip out of its connection fittings. This fuel line looks well made, but maybe mine was defective. I am not sure how I can return it, since residue from gasoline appears on it.

A backup fuel line was bought for my truck
3/5

The line turned out to be faulty. Purchased this as a backup fuel line because my old fuel line had leaked at the bulb and I was stuck on an island in Alaska without fuel to power the motor. I needed it quickly after purchase to get me off the island. We were unable to get this line to Calling for help and getting a tow were necessary. Gas would not flow through the line because one of the clamps on the tank side was missing, so it would not pump. When I got back to partssource, I put a clamp on it, and it now works as it should. Sent it back without changing it, because it was easier just to It would have been a good idea to do some homework before trusting the manufacturer.

Bulbs for the primer
3/5

The primer bulb is not holding its pressure, I believe. As soon as I pump it up and stop it, I pump it again and it takes several pumps for a dribble of gas to return. In this case, I believe the bulb isn't working correctly. Due to the fact that it has been filled with gas, I don't know whether they will take it back or if I can mail it back. Hopefully, I'll be able to contact the seller directly or he or she will contact me directly.

There is a leak in the The Johnson 15 HP outboard I was using was giving me problems and I tried different tactics to resolve it
3/5

It turned out that the fitting on the hose was either faulty or incorrectly attached, allowing air into the line, resulting in the motor not running properly. The problem has been solved by reinstalling the tank fitting and attaching it with a hose clamp. Currently, the bulb appears to be working as it should.

This is an inferior When I attempted to connect a fuel line to the tank for the first time, the cheap plastic fitting broke in my hands! This is a gas line connector
3/5

When such a critical and potentially dangerous part is made of inferior materials, how can one justify it? A refund was given by Amazon for the fitting at least.
