I was tempted to buy the real thing, but prolonged backorders made me try the alternative. There are pieces of metal inside a fabric pouch. The video seems to be of excellent quality for the job However, the edges of the weights are entirely unfinished. They are dotted with small slivers of metal left over from being cut to size. If you do not use them carefully, they will poke or cut you. You can either clean the edges with a file or just put them in the pouch and ignore them. What does matter isn't that important.

This helmet complements the helmet from Maritime Opscore exceptionally well. The construction and materials seem to be fine. The weights are simply chunks of steel bar. In place of the AA batteries, I replaced a few of the There is ample room for CR123 batteries in there if I wish to use them. A Velcro loop on the outside would make it easy to place patches on this jacket.

I've used it with my helmet for years now. I find that the weight of my NVGs is just right. The stitching and material are of the highest quality. Only thing I would like to see is a spot on the label to write my name.

The counterbalance works great at countering the effects of the NVGs. I use it at work. It has been exposed to some crazy elements and it is still working just fine. The product will work fine if you are purchasing it for military or for air soft.
