This is the second or third hopper I've owned (all of my previous hoppers were gravity fed). This one, in particular, is a joy to work with. I put it on my Tippmann Pro/Carbine (one of the best markers ever made!). It's powered by a 20 oz CO2 tank and runs like a champ! At 25 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm using it with JT RPS Target paint, and I'm having no problems! The hopper is attractive, performs admirably, and I enthusiastically recommend it!.
They seem to feed just fine, no jams or anything out of the two I use, the red one I received was opening too easily. That was fixed by using a torch for a few seconds and bending the lip of the hopper further out with pliers to make it close a little tighter. Now it gives that positive feedback "snap" when it's closed. Before we did that, we did lose some paint; I was going to return it, but I figured it would be worth a shot at bending the hopper a little with force.
I've had this hopper for quite some time, and it shows no signs of wear except for some paint caked on it. It's a great source of food for the paint. I've used it with electric markers and it still works well, though with an electric it may need to be shaken to feed more quickly. When it comes to mechanical markers, I have no problems because the added kickback from the mechanical guns keeps the hopper full of paint. This is ideal for those on a tight budget.
It's incredible how much more powerful a gravity loader is than an electric one. There's also no need to be concerned about batteries. There were no problems at all. I wish the lid's closing mechanism was a little more sturdy, but that's nothing a rubber band can't fix.
Pros: br>It's more efficient than a traditional symmetrical hopper. br>On a Tippmann 98 with a response trigger, it feeds paintballs as fast as the trigger can be pulled. br>The color palette is vibrant. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Colors are $1 more expensive than black. (br>br>Miscellaneous: br>In the lower inside section of this hopper, there is an additional shelf. This shelf, in my opinion, has two purposes:
1. Prevents bad/squished feeds by preventing the weight of the paintballs from pressing down on the paintball that is chambered for firing;
2. Paintballs can only be fed from one angle in the back/higher section, ensuring a more straightline paint feed.
Although the inside has a unique ramp design, I found that feeding your gun required a lot of shaking. This was on a high-end marker, so perhaps the design would work better on a mechanical marker with more kick, but even my son, who uses a 98 Custom, had to shake his marker. I'd say it's well-built, with a secure lid. It's a very attractive hopper as well. This is what I use on my high-end LV1 at one of our fields where you can only play with the walk-ins. as a non-profit organization If you have a gravity fed hopper, you'll be a step ahead of the game. When it finally started feeding after a few shakes, it had no trouble keeping up with my BPS when I was rocking the trigger. Because this is the only one I've owned and played with, I'm not sure if it feeds any better than the standard hoppers on the market. However, it does, in my opinion, appear to be much better than the rest.
Holds a lot of pain and I've only had to shake it once in about 30 games. This is a good option if you're new to paintball or don't want to spend a lot of money on customization.
The Proto Primo is a gravity-fed hopper that works surprisingly well. So far, no jams have occurred after two cases of paint, and I am able to feed as quickly as I can pull the trigger. The hopper is small, but because of its shape, it will interfere with red dots or scopes on top-rail markers (I'm using a Tippmann TMC). br>br>Overall, it's a fantastic hopper for a fantastic price!.
