The lids appear to be of good quality, and the pack of three gives you a variety of options depending on what you're drinking and where you'll be taking the bottle. The flip top was extremely tight and difficult to open, which I'm sure helps prevent leaks but makes me nervous that I'll spill just trying to open it. br>br>Unfortunately, they do not fit my 40oz Hydrapeak bottle with a wide mouth. Although the advertisement did not mention Hydrapeak, someone in the customer questions section said they did, so I placed an order. These are NOT the lids you're looking for if you're looking for a Hydrapeak bottle lid. I didn't have another brand to try it on, so I can't say whether or not they fit the ones they specify.

UPDATE: I was able to remove the odor and use the lid, but it returns quickly (for example, if I leave green tea in it overnight before washing it) and is extremely difficult to remove, even after soaking and scrubbing. I believe that removing the silicone ring made it easier to clean, but other lids I've had have a fixed ring that prevents anything from getting (or growing) underneath it. Basically, if I leave anything other than water in the cup for more than 24 hours, it's impossible to clean it, even if I remove the ring and soak all of the parts in hot water, vinegar, bleach mix, and so on. I used this lid for two days and thought I had found my new favorite lid. br>br>I used this lid for two days and thought I had found my new favorite lid. br>br> It didn't leak at all, and it wouldn't pop off the bottle even if I yanked on it (I tested it because lids have done that before), but, as another reviewer stated, This lid is incredibly easy to mold! I washed it both times I used it with scalding hot water and good soap, and I removed the rubber/silicone rings, but after washing it, I smelled a moldy odor. So I soaked it in vinegar overnight, rewashed it, and it still smelled moldy. I soaked it in bleach overnight, then washed it again, but it still smelled like mold. Finally, I used peroxide to soak it. for a couple of days Guess what? It's been rewashed. It still has a moldy odor. I'm disappointed yet again because the design is my favorite of all the lids I've tried.

Mold has grown under the lid on several occasions. GROSS! I assumed it was due to a lack of maintenance on my part, but mold always manages to find its way under the lid. It's now hidden beneath the lid AND beneath the caulk, both of which are inaccessible. The lid isn not 100% leak proof aside from the nasty mold aspect. I'd say it's 80% leak-proof and leaks for no apparent reason. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 18br>After digging the caulk out, my husband was able to access and remove the mold (see photo). This is most likely a band-aid solution to a problem with the lid. To ensure thorough cleanliness, the lid should be designed with removable parts (one removable clear ring is included).

This is something I really wanted to like. It was pink, which went well with my purple hydroflask, and it had a carry handle. So I noticed that it was difficult for me to open it, which isn't unusual; Things are usually difficult to open at first, and my hand strength is limited. It was a little difficult to get off as well, but that's due to my own lack of hand strength and means it won't leak. What doesn't work for me, however, is that the lid does not fully open. It's not a big deal if you have a cute button nose like me, but I have an unfortunate european sniffer and would end up with a tiny bit of coffee stuck to the tip of my nose while drinking. After thinking about nose reconstruction for a few days, I decided that replacing the gasket in my old lid would be easier. It isn't cute, it isn't pink, and it doesn't have a carry handle, but it does mean that I no longer have a brown spot on my nose.

The Simple Modern Wide Mouth Lids have a nice look to them, and the fact that they have a handle is a plus. I like the variety of colors and the fact that they fit on my Hydro Flasks. The only problem I have, and it's a big one, is that the flip top doesn't close tightly, and I've had a lot of big spills when the flip top gets knocked open (which happens VERY easily) while in my bag or if it falls over. This does not happen with any of my other flip lids (50/50, Hydro Flask). But I like the look and feel of the handle, so I bought two. I just have to be very careful, and I've accepted the fact that if I carry it in my bag, I'll most likely spill it.

I had an old Simple/Modern bottle and lid, as it turned out. I thought it was far superior to an off-the-shelf product. brand lid with a convenient handle that looked good but required a lot of sucking to get the water out of the straw. So I went out and bought a new S/M lid, which I had been putting off because the lid is $10 and the bottle and lid together costs around $15. True, the lid contains the engineering. Anyway, the new lid is a huge improvement over the S/M lid, which I thought was fantastic. The new opening is larger, and to say it sucks magnificently is an oxymoron, but it is accurate. The annoying part is that I now have to consider getting a new improved S/M lid for my second bottle, when I was perfectly content with my S/M lid yesterday. I'm not sure how much longer I can take it. We'll have to wait and see. I don't think they'll be able to improve on this, but you never know. Because I'm a slow buyer, this story could go on for a long time. I'll wait a few years, remember that I was going to replace the old good but not great lid, and then replace it, only to discover that S/M engineers have struck again and improved the lid even more. Please do not continue to improve things. This new lid is more than adequate! (OK, go ahead and hire your engineers; I'm sure I'll be able to buy lids indefinitely. ).
