Questions & Answers
Yes, it includes all of the base cards needed to play Dominion with any set. However, it may be simpler to begin with a more basic set, such as the main set.
In Dominion, you only need four more province cards per player to add more players. This expansion adds 12 new province cards, bringing the total number of players to eight. However, with eight players, that's a fairly lengthy game.
These are the base cards, such as coin cards, victory cards, and curse cards, that you keep on hand for each game. It won't be able to take the place of any event cards.

Selected User Reviews For Rio Grande Games Dominion Base Cards
The base cards appear to have been updated to the latest version included in the 2nd edition of Dominion (such as the coin value being printed in the form of a large coin). All cards, including Platinum and Colony, have been updated, so the images must be updated as well to ensure that you know exactly what you're getting. These cards have made me very happy. We've been playing together as a family for a long time. It's nice to have new cards that are more manageable than the old ones we were using. The current price ($14. 95) is for a limited time only. It's a great deal at 99 tax.
It's a game's expansion pack. If you look at these cards, keep in mind that they are not playable. Treasure cards, curses, and victory cards are all included in this set of base cards. If you prefer an expansion pack to the original dominion game, this set is ideal. A deck of these cards is included in the original domino game. These cards are not included in the expansion sets, so you'll either need the original game or this pack. br>br>If you have several expansion sets, this pack of cards is ideal. This way, you won't have to bring the entire original set with you, and you won't have to bring this set of base cards with you. br>br>It's also a nice set, with platinum, colony, and potion cards included. These cards are not included in the original set. As a result, it adds some new elements to the game that aren't available with the standard deck. br>br>It's a very useful set, and I recommend it if you have a lot of domino sets.
The value is printed in large print on the front of the cards in the Intrigue 2nd Edition base set, but it is not on the front of the cards in this small base set, which can be confusing for beginners learning the difference between cost and value. The Victory Point cards are in the same boat. br>As an example, I've attached a photo of the Coppers. However, I'm glad I have both because you'll need extra cards if you're playing with a larger group of people.
With the exception of the colony, platinum, and potions, I noticed that the intrigue box has extra slots for extra treasure, curse, and victory cards, so we had a place in the intrigue box for all of our cards. We're really looking forward to trying out games with up to 6 players!.
We enjoy Dominion, but we prefer Ticket to Ride. br>br>Don't get me wrong: we enjoy a game of Dominion, but the majority of the extensions are either not appealing to us or simply too expensive. br>br>The fact that Dominion is only for four players IS an obstacle. br>br>Enter the Base Cards, which offer two significant advantages over Dominion. br>br>With the addition of additional base cards, you can now play with up to 6 players: Copper (60), Silver (40), and Gold (30) are abundant, as are Estate (24), Duchy (12), Provinces (12), and curses cards (30). If you purchase Alchemy, you will also receive 16 potions to add to your collection. br>br>Use 15 provinces/duchies with 5 players and 18 provinces/duchies with 6 players. That's right, this set includes 6 extra cards, allowing you to play with up to 8 players in theory! br>br>However, if you have more than four players, you should add one Kingdom card to each of them and disregard the "three supply pile" rule. br>br>However, each of these cards has been completely redesigned with much nicer pictures to make them more than just a big number, so I recommend them for 2-year-olds. You can only use the new cards in four-player games. br>br>However, for me, the addition of 12 Colonies (11g to buy, 10 victory points) and 12 Platinum coins (9g to buy, 5 gold) is the game's biggest advantage. br>br>You can only get these two cards from the Prosperity expansion (for nearly three times the cost of the base cards), and you can use them in ANY Dominion game, not just Prosperity games. br>br>I personally sleeve my cards, but I was able to fit everything I might need in my Dominion box by putting the Platinum and the Colony in the randomizer card spaces, and then simply placing the randomizer cards on top of the index column with an elastic. br>br>I also put the extra gold, silver, and other precious metals in there. there. br>br>The extra curses (we don't like playing with the Witch) and Poitions (because we don't have alchemy) are the only cards in my base card box. br>br>Overall, a fantastic buy at a bargain price.
