I decided to get one for my mother as a present. I got it today, and it had old coffee stuck inside and out! It was disgusting! I'm stunned that Amazon allowed this to occur. Before you give something as a gift, make sure you inspect it!.

It has a nice grippy texture, a handy handle to swing it by, and it makes a gong-like sound when it hits people in the head. I've been doing it for two weeks and I'm really enjoying it. I'd already taken it on a plane, taken it to the beach, ridden it to and from work every day on my bike, and then dropped it on the floor. I've never had an insulated bottle before, so the cold it keeps my water is always a pleasant surprise. I haven't gotten the 6/8 hours of ice that some people claim, but I also don't use a lot of ice and frequently forget to close the lid out of laziness. This one appealed to me in part because it has a flip-up cover. I'm considering purchasing a top straw sport lid, but have yet to do so. I was surprised by how tall it was, but it needed to be that tall to hold 24 ounces AND fit in cupholders (which it does with ease) AND have a vacuum sealed insulated liner inside, and I was even more surprised when I leaned forward to sit down after setting it on my desk and my forehead landed right on top of the bottle. The lid has a couple of small knicks and scratches from normal use, but that's to be expected. Outside, I like the coating because it's easy to hold, doesn't get condensation because of the insulation, and repels water even when it runs down the sides. But here's the best part: It sounds like a low, subtle gong when you bang it against things. I do it all the time, both by accident and on purpose.
Tall Ridge and I placed two separate orders for Hydro Flask water bottles. One was wrapped in the same way that HydroFlask bottles are wrapped - in a nice cloth bag, wrapped in a paper sleeve around the bottle The second wasn't even close to what I had requested: Although it was a "kleen kanteen," not a HydroFlask, the bottle was wrapped in a HydroFlask paper sleeve, which obscured the "kleen kanteen" label. The second one was also not the color I had requested - It was supposed to be blue, but it turned out to be green. It had also been scratched in a few spots.
I was hoping for better insulation from the bottle. I was let down. Considering all of the positive reviews and the high price tag, I expected the bottle to have better insulation, but the ice was melting after only a few hours; on the plus side, there is no condensation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The handle on the cap broke off after a little more than a week of use. I can put it back on, but it's no longer secure, and when it snapped, I almost dropped it. I am extremely disappointed, especially since I paid $35 plus tax for a high-quality insulated bottle.
Own two. The first one was purchased at REI and was taught to only be washed by hand. All day long, it keeps ice. One from Amazon is incapable of keeping ice for more than two hours inside the house. I didn't want to believe it at first, but it turns out to be true after testing. The item was defective, but it was a gift, and it was given too late to be returned. Very let down. It had to be a flaw.
This is the second hydro flask I've had dented within the first week of use. The bottles are of poor quality, and the vendors have just informed me that the lifetime warranty does not cover dents or scratches. So, what exactly does it cover? I bought a bottle for my other child about 6 months ago for less than half the price of this one from a local retailer, and it is much sturdier, has no dents, and has been dropped several times more.
The water bottle appeals to me in general. With regard to the water bottle, I have two concerns. The first is that the top does not screw in as easily as I would like, but in comparison to other water bottles, it is still acceptable. I've had major problems with screwing the lid on an older Kleen Kanteen water bottle and not realizing it until it's too late and a lot of the water has leaked out. This bottle's problem isn't like that. This bottle will not screw on incorrectly; it simply requires a little more positioning than the other Hydro Flask lids. br>My second issue with it is the size; I'd love to find a good 1 liter stainless steel water bottle that fits in cupholders and doesn't leak. When I go to the gym, I really need something bigger. The cup holders at the gym work best with narrower water bottles. I can't get enough water in this size. Of course, this isn't due to a flaw in the product. br>I've experimented with a variety of glass and stainless steel water bottles. My favorite brands are Hydro Flask and Life Factory, both of which have excellent seals. The Hydro Flask bottle lids are sturdy and easy to screw in correctly. I've used Ello water bottles before and like them, but the lid is easily broken. The Life Factory lids are strong, but they are difficult to screw in properly.
