The Vaavud will work with the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, and HTC One, to name a few.
I just tested mine, and it picked up the signal from the iPhone about five inches away. So it's not a long trip. In my kitchen, I was using my finger to spin the sensor.
It isn't intended for use with an iPod. Thank you, Shunbr>JapaGoods
The Anemometer Accessory plugs directly into the phone's speaker/headphone jack, even though I have a Samsung Galaxy rather than an iPhone. I tried it out while sailing the other day, and it appears to be very effective. (However, I did not compare the wind speed reading on my phone to that of another device.)

This was fantastic for duck hunting until it suddenly stopped working. It's in excellent condition and has been well-cared for in its protective case. It is not going to work. Contact me if you have any questions.
This little device is fantastic, but it requires at least 5 mph to get started. When you whip out your phone, pop this baby into the top, and start measuring wind speeds, everything appears to be fine.
This is what I use for my inflatable rental company, which I own and run. It's very useful for determining wind speeds. It's also been proven to be quite accurate. Anyone would benefit from it.
It's small, tough, and doesn't require its own battery to operate, so you'll never be unable to use it due to a dead battery. I'll update my review once I've had it for a while, but so far it's been a fantastic little device. br>br>Edit- It's been a few months since I bought it, and it's still going strong!.
There isn't enough room on my sailboat for wind instruments, but this simple tool solves the problem. I haven't tried it in high winds yet, but it's simple to use and pinpoint accurate even in the lightest breeze. It is simple to use the iPhone application.
This is a fantastic iPhone accessory that appears to provide fairly accurate readings.
Great app and phone. This anemometer, along with the app that goes with it, makes for an interesting and entertaining addition to the I-phone. Phone. We hike in the California coastal mountains on a regular basis, even though the weather can be fickle. The Vaavud anemometer is easy to set up and accurately reports wind speed and other useful metrics, which are then displayed on the map. Other hikers in the area use their Vaavud anemometers to show their results in the areas where they are walking or hiking. If you're looking for a less windy place to hike, this is a good option. br>br>It's also a good option if you're sailing along the coast in the Long Beach and San Diego areas.
the best!.
