The device is also water resistant. The included mounting base is designed to allow you to attach the lightning detector to a surface outside where it can be seen and left attached if desired.
On the "G" version, you will see a green LED flash by Mode after pressing the On button once. If you press it again, the Mode LED will change to Amber and flash every 10 seconds; this is the "Heartbeat," which indicates that the unit is alive and in motion activation mode. (If the Amber LED is flashing, the unit is actively listening and will not go into sleep mode) After 30 minutes, the unit will enter sleep mode (internal shutdown, will not indicate lightning awareness until movement is detected) and the Amber LED will continue to flash about every 10 seconds, letting you know it is still alive. If the Amber LED is flashing and there is a single beep, the batteries are low and need to be replaced. You can also press the ON button at any time to see a brief display of the Green or Amber light, indicating which mode it is in. This energy-saving feature is unique to Talos! By pressing the off button for one second, you can turn off the alarm. The detector will beep once to indicate that it will turn off the beeper. Until the lightning activity stops, the LEDs will provide visual alerts and the beeper will be turned off. When a new lightning event occurs, the alarm will automatically turn back on.

When I'm out farming, I use the lightning storm detector. It's in my tractor cab and it's been great. I like the different warning colors and audible beeps that occur when a storm changes. It starts warning at 26 miles away with flashing blue color lights, then 16 miles with flashing green, and finally 6 miles with flashing red. It's been able to withstand all of the vibrations that come with rough terrain. This product comes highly recommended by me to anyone who requires lightning and storm warnings in advance.
This item fulfills all of the manufacturer's claims. It was faster than Weather Bug at alerting me to the presence of lightning. This will come in handy because I fish in a variety of remote locations. On the negative side, it's quite large, requires batteries, and is a little heavy. But it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. I'm sitting in my garage testing this unit right now as I write this. Its estimated distance matches the weather apps from local news stations to a tee.
The detector works fine, but why would you need two 4-inch detectors? 40-inch flat-screen television (Tiny! )head bolt/screws ) to attach it to something, such as a tractor or anything else?.
No Tape. To use double-sided adhesive tape, it needs a solid base. Putting holes in the boat is not something I enjoy doing.
I like that it's small enough to be portable, and since I live in Florida, where it's always raining, it's perfect for letting me know when it's time to get out of the pool and into the shade. It is also effective on the golf course.
The instructions are simple to follow. It appears to be well-made and easy to use.
