Questions & Answers

Is it possible to submerge the thermometer? Will it, for example, provide an accurate water temperature if one wishes to swim outside?

I like how big it is and how convenient it is. However, I'm not sure if the adhesive that holds it in the frame will withstand prolonged exposure to water. I did, however, put it under running water to see how accurate it was, and it held up.

I'll be taking it with me on my expeditions up the summit hikes, so how durable is it and how accurate is it?

For the same reason, I bought it. It appears to be accurate for its size, and its small size and aluminum frame should make it durable. I keep it in my tent or on my backpack strap.

Is it glass or plastic that makes the vile?

Hello there,br>br>Thank you for getting in touch with us! Glass is used to construct the thermometer vile. Sincerely,br>Austinbr>Sun Company, Inc. br>

Is it waterproof or at the very least water-resistant?

Hello there, The Brrr- The meter is water resistant and rainproof, but it is not completely waterproof because certain depths can cause inaccurate readings. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The meter is in perfect working order!br>br>Sincerely,br>Austinbr>Sun Company, Inc.

The product is faulty! The F scale is printed in the wrong place on the product, which is a defect
3/5

Take a close look at the image. The freezing point was supposed to be 32 degrees Fahrenheit last time I checked. On the F scale, it is a 28. 10C is also equal to 50F, but the F scale reads 47. This is simply unacceptable, and I am unable to return it at this time. It was too late for me to notice the error. I'm irritated to the point of rage. If I can get a refund or a decent replacement from the manufacturer, I'll update this negative review. Dan br> br> br> br> br> br> b.

Today's Headlines - Brrr- ometer
5/5

This is a thermometer, as you can see. That is, it will inform you of the temperature in the environment in which it is placed. As an example, suppose you placed the item in the refrigerator and left it there for a few minutes. When you open the door and look inside, this little thing will say, "It's a tad chilly in here, son!" in thermometer speak. If you leave it out back in direct sunlight on a brick, it will say "It's a warm on this brick now. "br>br>Be aware that this is a very small temperature teller. It's not quite tiny, but it's close. It is not small because it is mounted on an aluminum backer. That'd be something unique. If you plan to hang it from your swim trunks, keep that in mind. br>br>I'll give you a quick rundown of the Brrr- meter for your viewing pleasure and to allow you to compare sizes. A Ketchup packet, a U. S. dollar bill, and a Ketchup packet are arranged in the snap from right to left. This is Penny, and this is Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Last but not least, there's a Kitty Whisker. br>*Please take note of the following: Whisker was an item that was discovered on the rug. Wee mouser, you will not be plucked from me. br>**Please be aware - Plucking whiskers from anything with whiskers is not a good idea. It's a TRAP. Not even your ole nan will let you pry that mighty hair off her chin. Do not attempt it. ***By the way, this thing is off by about 10 degrees Fahrenheit and reads 90 degrees Fahrenheit for body temperature.

Beware
3/5

You won't be able to return anything to Amazon because they won't let you. It's a dangerous item, according to the manufacturer. Due to its small size, the thermometer is extremely difficult to read- if you're content with knowing the degrees in Fahrenheit to the nearest tenth, it'll suffice. appears to be very fragile- the glass tube with mercury is not protected in front.

It has a nice look to it, but it is ridiculously inaccurate
3/5

The size and weight are nice (hence the two stars), but the measurement is horribly off. Because the Celsius Zero (freezing point) aligns with sub-zero, the product is fundamentally flawed and should be removed from the shelves. The temperature is 30 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees F). It's absurd that the manufacturer keeps selling this garbage, but that's business as usual. Profit always takes precedence over logic! I bought the black version, which had the same degrees labeling flaw as the pinkish version, as shown in another review. br>br>Another thermometer should be used to double-check the accuracy. This one showed a temperature that was 5 degrees Fahrenheit below the actual temperature. br>br>While I like the size, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It's almost practical
3/5

Stack tolerance is an engineering concept. The alignment of the F° to C° scale is fairly close (probably /-). 5°). Because of the size and the thermometer, the scales are only marked in increments of 5° and 10°. The vial's calibration mark is scratched in to roughly 20°C for assembly, but the item is presumably primarily used by people who are interested in the F° scale. With all of the variables, the best possible accuracy is around /-. 5 degrees (10 degrees error) and is most likely closer to /- 15° (30° error), so if it says 32°F and you know it's somewhere between 17°F and 47°F outside, it's a good idea, but if you don't know, make a good guess and you'll probably be just as accurate.

It's difficult to tell how hot it is
3/5

Small is convenient, but if you make it too small and cram too many numbers into it, you won't be able to get an accurate temperature. You can get a general idea from the numbers, but not the precise temperature.

Use a celsius scale to determine the temperature
4/5

The scales are tipped, as others have stated. When it comes to temperature, 0 Celsius is just below 30 degrees Fahrenheit when it should be just above. At the very top of the scale, the situation is the same. The temperature at 50 degrees Celsius should be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. I did, however, test it in an ice bath and with two NIST-calibrated thermometers. The temperature scale in Celsius appears to be correct. When my calibrated thermometers in the house read 68 degrees, it was around 0 degrees in the ice bath and around 20 degrees in the house. Given the small size of the thermometer and the 5 degree marks, that's pretty good precision and accuracy for the Celsius scale. As a result of the misalignment, the Fahrenheit reading is 3 to 4 degrees lower than it should be. Knowing this, I can either use the Celsius scale to compensate for the misalignment when taking a reading. My use will be in the backcountry camping or hiking when I need to know if the temperature is in the high 30s or low 30s to determine how well my layers and sleeping system perform in a given temperature range, and it will fulfill that purpose. br>br>In conclusion, despite its small size and misaligned Fahrenheit scale, this thermometer will serve you well when you need to know the approximate temperature.

There aren't any batteries here, Ma! I chose this over a number of other options because I want something that will always work
5/5

I don't want to be concerned about running out of batteries while hiking in the woods. I'm looking for something that's small, accurate (but not precise), lightweight, simple to use, and always works. It's all over now. I also appreciate the fact that it contains both *F and *C! br>I tested it against freezing point with ice and found it to be dead accurate. br>I also tested it against room temperature with two other thermometers and found it to be dead accurate. Because of its size, it isn't very precise, but for outdoor activities, a few degrees difference is insignificant. The aluminum case appears to be strong enough to keep the glass safe. br> The only disadvantage is that, like any liquid-filled thermometer, the small size can be difficult to read at times. To read the red line, you must get the correct angle for the glass. However, this is entirely normal and expected for this type of meter. br> Will most likely purchase additional items to share!.
