Is it possible that this item has reached the end of its useful life? priced?

Yes, absolutely. The all-black version is identical to the original. Only red accents are used. a NATO strap that is expected to be less expensive than the original. This made me extremely upset. Before the pandemic, I had one saved to my wishlist for about the same price as the original. I wish I had bought it, as I did so many other things, but oh well.

Is there a difference between the "classic all black" and "core black red" versions in terms of functionality? Is there a significant price distinction?

The only difference, as far as I can tell, is the display. I'm not sure if the standard or black versions are being phased out, but the new one isn't red. I'm also not sure if the red display is more expensive to produce, but the watch's functionality remains the same, as far as I can tell.

Even at maximum contrast, the watch is too dim to read and glance at. All of the other features, which I'm sure are fantastic, will be useless if you can't see them. I ignored the other reviews that said the same thing because they have a good reputation. Now all I have is a "free" refund minus international shipping costs - ouch!.
