I find it quite useful. In our case, we do not use ours all day, but since we use it 5xweek for over 3 hours a day, we have not yet had to replace the batteries.
This megaphone has been with me for two years. Eight C batteries are needed to operate the device. To the best of my knowledge, this megaphone does not possess a rechargeable battery pack. It's probably 8 or 9 times a day that I use the megaphone The times I use it are ten times a year, and I typically use it all As for the batteries I bought for the megaphone, I still have the original set. When I have finished using it for the day, I take out the battery and place it in a bag. I let the area around the battery case dry out (I frequently have to use the megaphone when wet). After following these procedures for a period of time, it has been very successful. The megaphone has been used in very wet weather conditions, during which there was a plastic bag taped over the speaker/battery area at the end and the rest of the bag was removed. In place of the inexpensive Radio Shack brand I currently use, I bought this one. Our old megaphones need to be replaced about every other year, so I decided to buy a high quality one. As a first point, the extra loud ThunderPower unit sound like it is barely louder than the inexpensive unit which People asked me to speak up when I tested it while the volume was set at 10. The second and even more important point, however, is to protect your reputation. Similar to the RS unit, it has the same hinge design (bottom and top) as well as the same mic clip (overall, it looks similar). Two of these points are what cause RS units to fail. At over 100 yards, the coworker was able to hear and understand me when I was speaking into the mic at an average volume without shouting or raising my voice. A buyer of this megaphone will not be disappointed, as it is of excellent quality. This product has a very loud volume and is of high quality.

Poorly manufactured and only loud enough for small groups or quiet areas, this product is too quiet for large groups or noisy places. volume is not loud enough to be heard during an emergency or protest.
