You are not one of them. If it's mounted, you won't be able to open the hatch unless the hatch's window opens independently from the door.
It fits into a 2" receiver hitch without the need for a platform. If your Toyota doesn't already have one, you'll have to see about getting one installed. Because the carrier is 51 inches wide, you'll need to check the distance between your tail lights to see if they'll fit.
Ours did, and it was a breeze to put together. On this 4000 mile journey, we have been extremely pleased with the box. There is no sign of a leak despite the strong winds. That's fortunate because the box contained our golf clubs, my tools, and a variety of other items. To get the hitch bar closer to the back of our RV, I drilled new holes in it.
Our RV's hitch is slightly recessed beneath the rear bumper. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to open the lid against the back of the RV. There's plenty of room, in fact, there's too much of it. I'm hoping to make up for the extra space by drilling new receiver pin holes.

The quality of the construction and completion is excellent. It comes highly recommended!.
ABF Freight arrived and delivered the goods. It was delivered right to my front door. It took me 30 minutes to put it together and connect it to my radio. There are no issues with alignment. This item is very durable. Exactly what I needed for the back of my coach.
You're free to put anything in this box!.
Because there is so little room inside my 15 passenger van when it's full, I use it on the back. I put my bags and supplies in the cargo chest and close the lid to keep them safe. The chest appears to be well-made, with secure latches. It's convenient to be able to store bags and supplies without fear of them becoming soiled, wet, or stolen. I would buy this item again in a heartbeat.
