On round crossbars, these would most likely flop around. On square crossbars, I'm putting it to use.

So far, everything has gone well. I've had them on my racks for a few months and they haven't shown any signs of rust or wear. These are what I'm using to transport my ten-footer. Personally, I wouldn't go any larger.
They are capable of carrying out their responsibilities. They're durable. However, I would suggest tightening the screws once a week, as they can become loose over time.
Although the construction is of good quality, the connection to the square bar across the members appears to be a little flimsy. It's a little too tall mounted on my truck topper for securing my 52 pound load. sit- It will suffice for my iSUP or smaller boats as a top kayak.
A 120-pound old town sportsman won't fit in the racks because it's too narrow.
The Reefs J Hooks have excellent straps and are well-built. I liked them so much that I ordered a second set.
They were a perfect fit for my 2013 Ford Escape Titanium. There's also not much wind.
