Questions & Answers

PC Mover Ultimate supports transfers from PCs with Windows 7, 32 bit to PCs with How many 64-bit computers do you need? Are you satisfied with the cable that is included in the package?

After successfully transferring from a Windows 7, 32 bit computer to a Windows 8 computer, I am now using Windows There is one computer that is 64 bit. The only thing that didn't transfer was a couple of lists. As far as cable is concerned, I have no idea. Transfer through a network was what I did. A couple of days were needed.

It is stated in the ad for the Laplink PCMover Ultimate that one use will be allowed. That's what it means, but what does it How well will the mover work if I run it more than once?

Then you only have a single move/transfer chance if you fail the transfer. I'm not sure if you get another shot if you fail the transfer, but I do know that you only get one. I had a hard time figuring out how to install and move, so I had to call for I was also not able to transfer the majority of my installed software. It was my first time going from a 32bit XP machine to a 64bit WIN 7 machine. We had to purchase or download versions for several programs that are available in 64bit.

Can you tell me if any hardware is required ?

I believe there is a cable that can be used, it is simply a standard USB cable with a third pin, and it comes As long as both computers have a USB port, both ends should fit into each other, as the manual does not state which end you should plug in.

What if I have microsoft offie on my new computer? Will it replace the old office with the new one?

If you choose to transfer your files to your new computer, you should be able to choose what to transfer. The old office will not be transferred, so you can disregard it.

The process of using can be a hassle
3/5

A 24/7 tech support service is provided by the seller, which you should definitely take advantage of. You must be careful! A drawback and a benefit. Then it is 99) to clean it up because transferring evil stuff to a new machine isn't a good idea? It's ok if you're not a techy The chances are good that these are not real threats, and you do not know where they come from either. Only the week before by another customer service representative, this one from Netgear, my machine had already been cleaned. My first impression was that it seemed fishy. *Note that you can also use (2) older non-compatible devices If you use Windows 10, Microsoft programs will not copy from your old PC to the new one. Although LapLink is not at fault, some programs that can be used from Windows XP and Windows 7 do not translate seamlessly and can not be used unless they are reinstalled or reinstalled twice If you have the original CD or license key, you can install the software. When Adobe Acrobat and Snag-It were used, it resulted in this error Third, and maybe this is petty, but I wanted all the files in the same folder It didn't make sense to me. Among the files in Folder AAA, files from Folder BBB- are mixed up alphabetically with files for Folder AAA I doubt we will be able to resolve this issue in a few hours. I also wanted two external drives, a C drive and a D drive, so I could mirror an older machine on the The tech support agent promised to do that, but failed to do it. It is now impossible to separate programs from letters and different The Internet - I would say that this is better than using a thumb drive, but using the net takes all day (from noon until 7 p. m. The test is taking place at 30 pm) and is nerve-wracking This is nerve-wracking.

You should beware A number of key features of this product are not functioning as advertised, and there are no useful customer support services provided
3/5

With the "24/7" help line advertised with the product materials, you do not get in touch with their company, but with a dental office, for example. On the website, I found an alternative that I tried out. Repetition of calls to this alternate help line - even after 34 hours of transfer - resulted in no answers went through the steps finally, I was informed that one machine must be operating under Windows Vista in order to work. (Note that, in our conversation, there was too much noise from her call center, and she did not speak English as her first language. After a long phone tree, I attempted to reach Customer Service, which does not offer voice assistance, but only offers After talking to the chat person, I was told that I needed to download some type of file, but when I repeatedly tried to access the site he suggested, it didn't.

It has been many years since I switched to a new computer
4/5

The switch was by far the easiest and most trouble-free one I have ever made in my life. I have switched computers many times in my life. In one review, it was mentioned that the Microsoft Office program could not be transferred. As for mine, the very first time I tried running PC Mover, neither did mine. Laplink's representative answered my questions (and if I hadn't been on hold for so long, I would have given this 5 stars), and it turned out the new computer came with a "trial" version of Microsoft Office. In my experience, I had to uninstall and reinstall The programs and files all appeared on the new computer after I ran PC Mover (it can be run several times between the same two computers, each time only transferring what hadn't come across before). Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. programs and files could all be transferred. As I was upgrading from a Windows 7 to a Windows 10 PC, I needed to transfer some files. All I need now is to learn Windows 10 (now if only I could learn it). Despite the fact that I may run into problems down the road, so far I am quite pleased with the results this quite inexpensive software produced.

This is a bad thing! We are in a desperate situation
3/5

This PC Mover Ultimate is not worth the money! LapLink products have been part of my life since the early 1990's. With the previous version, I never had a problem. With this new version, where they claim to transfer all data and applications, they are WRONG! a single application from my previous Windows 7 laptop has transferred to my new Windows 10 machine. Joe and I spent hours "CHATTING" over the course of three weeks. While he had to deal with 100 chats, Joe was as helpful as one could expect from a help desk person. As a result, he gave me a list of actions that, according to him, would be effective. Do you know what's going on? This is a bad thing! I turned to an IT professional who had been my go-to guy at work before I retired, out of desperation. The installation of PC Mover was a success through Citrix. After I had set up Windows Live Mail on my new computer, I was able to send and receive emails. As a result of the transfer, it has been erased. I did not receive a single application transfer from my old Windows 7 to my new Windows 10. A great product, once known as LapLink, is no longer available. To summarize, I could have edited the files using thumb drives from my old computer. You are ashamed of LapLink for advertising that you have "The Only Software that Moves Your Programs, Files, and Setups" This is garbage! You may correct me if I am incorrect. We would like the 'Programs and Settings' to be transferred to us as promised by IYOGI!.
