Questions & Answers

What version of Photoshop is compatible with this product? Can anyone tell me if it will work with CS5?

As far as I can tell, it will not be It is a totally separate program from Elements 11, but for manipulating photos it is called Photomatix. After that, you save the file and open it just as you would any other jpeg or tiff file in Photoshop. The image has also been edited in Photoshop after being loaded into Photomatix and works perfectly.

Are there any presets included with Photomatrix?

Presets are available in many ways. Painterly 2 is the software I use most of the time. I am deeply satisfied with it.

When using Photomatix Pro 5, can I stitch panoramas?

This application is not a stitching tool rather, it is a tool for combining images taken at varied shutter speeds. Nevertheless, most of us use it with stitching applications so we can achieve the best Tone Mapping and/or Exposure Fusion for

(2) Do you have the capability to combine more than three bracketed images with this software? Is this software able to render natural-looking images and artistic images as well?

The software can combine more than three images, so yes, to both questions. On Canon cameras, you can bracket the exposure with one f/stop difference, so there are three shots to be taken. Half a stop of difference in f/stop is compensated by Nikon. At times I have used as many as nine images at the same time, but it is not necessary to do this. As for your second question, Photomatix Pro has preset settings you can customize to pick the rendition you prefer, but you can also use the manual settings to tweak any of the settings and save them for later There is nothing stopping you from making very subtle changes to bracketed images or from rendering a picture to look cartoonish - it's completely up to you. Learn to use this program easily and you'll be surprised at how powerful it is.

Projects created with Photomatix versus those created with HDR
4/5

My ambition is to become a photographer someday. In a workshop, I was introduced to Photomatix by others. I purchased the book and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The default settings are mostly what I use, and I haven't tried customizing my HDR was more interesting to me and I was satisfied with it. When I was searching for other HDR software, I stumbled across A little bit more expensive, but it offers a lot In spite of the complexity, there are 149 presets in the library that do more than I could ever anticipate. As you start HDR Projects 4, you have an array of options for choosing the lighting, choosing a ghosting setting, choosing noise suppression, aligning the project, and more all from One of the adjustments I've made is to enable I would say that “loading an image is faster in HDR Projects,” but it is not that much faster. In addition to their natural collections, the 149 present pieces are also from landscapes, architecture, It is quick and easy to preview the presents, and you can add them to a favorites I wonder what that means so I asked.

But the pudding is in the eating (wonder what that is? Three photos can be found here. Here is the original, a shot of a stream near my home. The HDR results in both HDR Projects 4 and Photomatix can also be achieved with the default settings (but without ghosting). There is little difference between the two and they are both acceptable. However, I favor the HDR Project. I was able to do this without any tweaking by selecting a preset and I was blown away by how beautiful it looked. The right file is the original, the left was created with Photomatix, and the middle was created using Based on my experience, I gave Photomatix 4 stars, as I think it is a good solid program. rate HDR Projects 5 stars if it had additional features, settings, and a faster processing In my opinion, it was much more user-friendly. A new version of Photomatix Pro 5 is now available
5/5

As far as HDR photography is concerned, Photomatix Pro 5 is pretty much the standard. A user can get a surreal image or a realistic HDR image using it. The interface is pretty simple. There are no cute little things in the GUI that take the user's attention away from the task at hand. There is an option to use tone mapping and exposure fusion for bracketed images. It is up to me to see which of these approaches is closer to my intended outcome. A single image (raw, tiff, or even jpeg) can be tone mapped and give good results, but not as good as a bracketed set. This is not a program that will solve all your problems. A lot of tone mapping and exposure fusion is possible with it. Every additional enhancement like white point, black point, saturation, etc. , is a very basic adjustment and you can accomplish these far more effectively on your own using Adding saturation to an image in Photomatix, for example, is a global process. Hue, saturation, and luminance can be adjusted on individual colors in a good photo editor. In addition to the presets, this program has several others. It may be possible in some cases to use these. As far as I can tell, the monochrome presets are to be good and to be on time Photo editors are able to do what is needed. The best way to use presets is to try them out. I tend to adjust the HDR manually but I do end up doing so often. In the end, I want to take control of how my photo looks, not have it dictated to me by a program. Photomatix creates a raw image with the file it creates. Photomatix is the only program that can create HDR. Once you've made all the necessary adjustments in your favorite photo editor, save it. A lot of tutorials can be found on the internet regarding See what they have to offer. There are some really good ones among them. It is also a good idea to read the instruction manual that comes in the box, especially the section about bracketing your The best results will come from paying attention to where the shadows and highlights for each shot should be on the histogram. This will change how you see things because photography changes how we see With HDR and Photomatix you will be able to visualize your images in a whole new way.

Welcome to the topemapping team
5/5

I would like to first tell you a bit about myself to put the review in perspective. I am a photography student and an amateur photographer. It is not the first time that I have used HDR. The images were combined using Photoshop Elements. After submitting the resultant image, I processed it in the same way as Tones were not specifically being mapped in Elements, they were part of the post-processing flow I used. My first experience with HDR was with Photomatix Pro and HDR Efex Pro, but I soon learned that CHDR Efex Pro was the best. There isn't much to choose between them other than personal preference, I suppose. On Amazon, I bought the former (Photomatix) for a lower price. It gets full marks from me for Photomatix. Tone Compressor and Details Enhancer are two different types of tone mapping methods offered by this program. It is the former that I almost always use, so I will only discuss it here. When working with Detail Enhancer, you can choose to enable advanced controls or just work with the standard controls until you become accustomed to them. I really like this program because it's so easy to use and provides tooltips for all the controls if you don't know what they do off the top of your head. In addition, there's a number of presets that, if you choose, will apply predefined tone mappings to your image and consequently give you certain effects. A single exposure can be processed in Photomatix for the purpose of making a pseudo-3D image You can create an HDR image from multiple exposures or you can create a conventional It also includes automation functionality I have not used and the results of my experiment cannot be commented on. In conclusion, their support is first rate. I had a problem with Version 4. I got their support super quickly. It seems that this issue is indeed a bug with Photomatix's Lightroom 4 plugin. I received a response from their support team within a day confirming the issue I reported was a bug. I was notified via email within three days of the release of the patch. Is it possible to get any better than this? I regret to inform you that Amazon does not provide an option for inserting You can view a pseudo-explanation of the APA style Here is a HDR I created from a single exposure using Photomatix. Feel free to leave a comment on the review if you have any questions or comments, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
