The whole thing is a bunch of Cyberlink pays for the downloader, which holds installation files in a temporary folder that can only be used once the installation is complete. In this case, you do not have the option of storing the installation on a backup drive for later resinstallations. They claim that you can redownload Power Director 19 Ultimate for 2 years, which is essentially the same as paying $59 per year for Power Director 365 when you pay $137 for 2 years of Power Director 19 Ultimate. Marketing ploy that is sketchy at best. I would recommend skipping this and purchasing the action cam software for $49 instead.
Renders and burns are not so good. Finally, I was able to get through editing, which is much easier compared to previous software. My disappointment lies in the pixelation that continued to creep into the final output, after rendering and burning. It could not adjust my formats, my graphics card [which the program would helpfully optimize with every update], or any other preference. It turned out that I had to go back to Vegas Movie Studio 26 Platinum, which I have a desktop computer equipped with 2 SSDs and a high end Nvidia card. The burns are clean after I used it, but it is a little finicky to use. Of course, everything depends on your preferences so you have to tweak them a lot.
The different versions of PowerDirector I've used over the years are listed below. In a nutshell As far as commercially available video editors are concerned, I have always found it to be among the easier-to-use and more reliable options. In a nutshell With its powerful yet easy-to use functionality, PowerDirector 19 Ultimate shares many of the same characteristics. In a nutshell The software is easy to install, and there is a second disk that comes with bonus content such as extra effects and fonts. In a nutshell As soon as the application is launched, users will find four distinct work environments There are two modes of timeline operations Full mode and Mini mode. Thanks to the nested preview and effects rooms, tools and features are easy to locate, but the layout at the top is somewhat cluttered compared to other editors. * Storyboard mode has the same top layout and windows, but there are storyboards instead of a timeline at the In a nutshell PowerDirector has just about everything a home filmmaker needs and quite a few they don't.
Slideshow creator and magic movie (aka auto) both have the same simple layout, so they can be used quickly to produce projects with minimal fuss. An important feature is the ability to record the screen. A live recording of the screen is possible as well as running applications or playing games. Recording the screen with PowerDirector has always been one of its most powerful yet understated features. With older or lower spec computers, PowerDirector runs fairly well and performs well with 4K files, but slowdown is noticeable with In a nutshell As far as my test system equipped with a 2 is concerned, it performed well. When previewing and rendering 4K video with an 8GHz i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro 1000M, and a 500GB SSD, it is very noticeable that the computer is experiencing slowdown. In a nutshell As long as it renders, I can still use my PC, but it's pretty slow. The rendering times are neither too slow nor too fast, but they fall between those two extremes. This test system is, of course, ancient, but testing with older systems or lower specs is my preferred practice. In a nutshell It doesn't take long for someone to review a system that has a beefier specification. In a nutshell The program is more likely to be installed on a system with specs closer to my test system than a system with an i9 CPU, 64GB of RAM, and an RTX 3090 graphics card. I In a nutshell There is no need for me explain every spec and feature since you can find them all on Cyberlink's website. One of the things I dislike most about PowerDirector 19 are the advertisements. In a nutshell Cyberlink products are not new to this practice, and PD19 follows the examples of other products, particularly PowerDirector 365, feeling like a marketing gateway. In a nutshell When I tried to launch PowerDirector for the first time, a message informed me that I did not have the latest version. Click the link to download all the features I had missed. It seemed as though the 5e link would take me to an update, but it instead landed me on a web page offering to sell In a nutshell Among the features missing from PowerDirector 19 that can be found in PowerDirector 365 are also listed on the page. As part of this review, I have attached the list. In a nutshell I am not a fan of most of the extra features, but I do believe a few should be in every version and not withheld from the subscription-based version due to inflated costs. When certain tasks, such as rendering, are being performed, I am also forced to watch flashing ads. In a nutshell It is the marketing blitz of Cyberlink software that cheapens the feel of their products to the point where they feel like ad-laden shareware rather than legitimate retail products.
A user manual, other books, and videos explain how to do different things in a very simple way.
In spite of several attempts to install it on my husband's computer, it did not work. In my case, it was returned.
This is a great application to work with, it is very easy to use, it has lots of options, and it is inexpensive.
