He started off learning this way because the first lesson convinced him it was the right way. This song introduces chords, plays them so finger positions can be seen, and uses those chords among other things. The ability to use a computer is obviously not required. This presentation explains the basics in a simple, entertaining and musical manner. I now have to wait (interminably) for the computer to work again.

The title of the program describes exactly what the program Guitarists should find it helpful to get a better understanding of the instrument. During the play of many of the songs, you can see a picture of the fret board while someone else is playing. However, I'm not a fan of the fact that fingers are merely dots and do not show the way a hands' hand would actually look when doing a chord change. Besides letting you watch other people play the song, this program gives users the option of watching someone else play the song, which is an interesting concept however it adds very little. In some sections, my biggest problem with instruments is that I do not know what I am doing wrong. When you can watch someone else play, I was really hoping to figure it out using the feature where you can watch someone else play. Upon learning to play the guitar, I was struck by the realization that all people, regardless of their ability, look the same. There is no help in this program for figuring As the title suggests, this might have worked better for me if I had started from scratch not knowing anything (as the title says "For Dummies"). However, I'm not sure I wouldn't have run into the same problems I did. In previous programs provided by Emedia, plugging in a MIDI device allowed you to have the program test you and tell you if something you were doing was right based on what you were playing. It would have been nice if I could use that feature on your software, however it is not available. This was a disappointment since most other EMedia programs use that name, and this product is not made by Emedia or "For Dummies", so it's disappointing. A second problem with the program is that after a while it starts doing real songs instead of just playing guitar. The singing is also very distracting once you get past a few lessons. If you are a musician who plays several instruments (Brass/strings), you would practice the parts you are having difficulty with again and again, as part of the practice process is to learn your part. It was very distracting to hear singing on a guitar tutorial program. It provides very good explanations of concepts as one of the strengths of this program. During every chapter, they explain the difference between slash chords and power chords, and they provide exercises that correspond to the lesson they are teaching. The advantage of taking a class with other people is that this is a great alternative to one - My impression is that its not that much more effective than a book and a music CD. The focus of this course is on rock/blues, and NO consideration is given to standard music notation or classical guitar in any way. The user can go back to a lesson once the lesson has been completed for a review and a quiz or as a reference screen The logic behind this book is very clear and it's easy to understand how it's possible to have a great foundation for guitar skills.

I've only had it for two days and I am in love with While I play a range of instruments, guitar is one that I've wanted to play since I was a young boy. is able to teach anyone how to play whether he or she is young or old. Any buyer who purchases it will find that it goes beyond their expectations. I feel like I'm in Guitar Center paying out a couple of hundred dollars for guitar lessons every time I use this program. Let me not confuse you, I like Guitar Center, and there is one close to my house You can also take one-on-one lessons, but if you're on a budget and determined to learn how to play within your available free time (nights or days), then this may be the best option. In addition to the great product, the company that shipped it to me was excellent as well. The item I bought at 227 am on 1/27/12 was delivered by the middle of the afternoon of 1/29/12 without even confirming that the shipping was expedited. Where can I find more information about the product? This is an affordable program with a wide range of content (videos, articles, pictures) and will exceed your expectations.

I am not much different from anything else I have used in the past. There is not a lot to gain As we mature, we need more private lessons since we are not as flexible as we were in our youth. It will take me more time to form an opinion. I will update you once it has changed.

Learning how to play guitar is easier if you refer to Guitar for Dummies. The app is pretty straight forward when it comes to teaching chords and strumming techniques, and I was pretty pleased with its built-in recorder, metronome, Only one drawback is that the teacher assumes you already know some things in some lessons. Since I bought this instrument, I've picked up a guitar for the first time in my life and I can play along to simple songs at least. In terms of price, it was an excellent purchase.

I think this is an excellent place to start for my children as they learn to play I was very pleased with the information and its ease of understanding. We are talking about Computer Based Learning (CBL) here. In other words, if you have a computer with a DVD drive and you want to learn guitar, this is the right place for you.

Before I began this program I never touched a guitar in my life, but when I finished it in less then a week I felt comfortable holding a guitar in my hands and confident that I could play it. In my opinion, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that I wish it came with some kind of book, like a supplementary guide, so that I could have the chords and songs on paper instead of just printing them off of my The rest of it makes it a brilliant start for fresh newbies.

as of now I have learned the problem is not the product, but me the guitar player, I suck.
