We used to talk a lot back then. Despite the fact that there are fancier, more deluxe versions of STARRY NIGHT out there, I would say that I so far feel it was well worth the money I spent on a used older version of STARRY NIGHT BACKYARD. A few times I've explored online GOOGLE EARTH that appears to do what STARRY NIGHT does for the heavens is like the STARRY NIGHT for the Earth. If there's another software program that allows me to use STARRY NIGHT without connecting to the Internet, I'd like to know if there is. Please let me know what suggestions you have if you have them.

It's easy to see why people are impressed by the program's aesthetically pleasing interface. As a result I became disappointed when I attempted to search the NGC catalog but the object was not listed. According to what I can tell, for Messier objects, the program only returns DSOs. It is unlikely that I would have found The Eskimo Nebula if I didn't have another program (The Sky).
It works well as far as function is concerned, but one observation I have is that it does not seem to have a lot of names or nicknames for some objects, just a lot of messier numbers.
The interactive aspect can be a fantastic way to learn astronomy and astronomy. Although this upgrade is not really necessary to get the most value out of the purchase, I bought the "Starter" edition, then moved up to "Backyard. When it comes to choosing Starry Night, I was debating whether to get the backyard Special Edition or the Pro version. My choice was Strarry Night backyard, and I agree with the other reviewers, it is very easy to use, right out of the box. This app shows you the stars as you would see them right in your backyard. Zoom in and out and watch the sky change from morning till night. You can do this as the days and nights fly by using this app. There is the option to go back in time, as well as out It is possible to see the stars from various planets depending on where you are. The view from Mars was so amazing that I even saw the Earth! It was only my desire to have more that had me in a bind. Its level of exploration is not at the level at which I wish to explore the night sky in Starry Night Backyard Special Edition. Choosing Starry Night Pro was a good choice for me given my need for something a little more advanced. I can now view the night sky through my telescope.
