I was excited to buy this CD for my first grader after reading the reviews. I am very disappointed with the outcome. Rather than a variety of games and activities, I had expected to find the same thing (addition and subtraction drills) in just one format (a mathematical equation appears on It's the same every time, except that the next time you complete a series of problems, you might get a rocket ship instead of fireworks. On the math-section of this site, you can find similar drills for free Check out the website. Just click the link and you'll see. You don't need to spend any.
According to the description, the product is exactly what it is. The graphics and lively comments accompanying the product are pleasing to us. There is no doubt that it will help reinforce our son's addition and subtraction skills. However, it would prove even more helpful if we could set some kind of a specification such that only 1s, 2s, 3s, etc. facts are listed and not levels, so it is not so random and you can be sure they know everything. In due time, when they have a grasp of the concept, a random number may be chosen.
The series of software I am using is fantastic. "I am the one who lives here" In my capacity as a teacher of math and science, I have nine school-aged children. Children will find these entertaining as well as educational. In addition to being fun, they are also educational (if your kids haven't been spoiled with toys like Gameboy or Xbox). In addition to School Zone flash cards and these programs, I also use them to reinforce repeatable learning in Math up to In math, my oldest 3, ages 18 to 22, have tested 2 to 5 years ahead of their current age. Making math interesting and fun was a huge part of their success. Their elder siblings play it as well, so the younger ones are anxious to get rolling with this one. It's not uncommon for the older kids to hang out and then supervise the younger ones during the programs. This series of products is good. It is highly recommended that you both learn Math and study flash cards.
My one big complaint about this product was that I wanted to love it unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations You won't receive a response right away. It's impossible for him to tell whether he gets a problem correct or incorrect. He receives nothing more than a brief flash of a percentage of the total correct. It would be better for me if he did worksheets so that I could check them and help him correct any errors. The only thing that's bad about this is that otherwise it's You should do math on the computer, without any stories or characters to distract you.
I think this program is fantastic. You can play against the clock, challenge another player, or do one set at a time (0s, 1s, 2s, etc. ) on the main screen. On the second screen, there is a Magic Square (table) from 0 to 12 that helps the student determine the correct answer, and under the top right corner it displays the math family group. In the upper right hand corner, a copy of the clicked equation will be displayed. Using it can solve a problem on the main screen, or it can be used as an exercise in its own right. Each set has rewards after it is completed. Progress is tracked, and the difficulty of the problems can be adjusted as necessary. I would say that this is fantastic! As far as my kid is concerned, he loves it.
