Questions & Answers

Is this device compatible with current laptops?

Almost certainly not. Because the program is 15-years-old, it was created for older computers. I'm twenty. I wouldn't buy it unless you're a vintage PC game collector who knows how to make it work by fiddling with compatibility settings.

It appeals to me
5/5

I bought one copy for each of my two children, ages 5 and 6. It was a big hit with both of them. The 6-year-old can do more on his own, but the 5-year-old is getting the hang of it. The program includes a tangram-style segment that allows children to manipulate geometric shapes and scales that require three addition problems to be solved at the same time - I had to explain it to the six-year-old on paper and show him that they were doing addition, to which he responded: 'Oh, that's why it's called math quest,' they say. They have word problems and the kids have to place gems on a plate (there are a total of ten gems). Purple is represented by six of them. The number of blue and white gems is equal. ) Because my five-year-old is unable to read, I must remain on hand to assist her. There wasn't a lot of practice with simple math, which I expected, but there was enough that I didn't expect to keep the kids challenged and entertained. In the end, It received so much attention that I purchased a second copy so that each computer could have its own copy and not compete for turns.

A Math Adventure Game that is a lot of fun to play
5/5

This educational game is being played by my 6-year-old son, who enjoys it greatly. The characters are very funny and assist the child in solving math problems. br>br> The graphics are fantastic, and there are multiple difficulty levels to choose from. This is a game that I strongly suggest you play.

Shapes, numbers, and addition are all easy to learn with this game
5/5

The sensational cinema quality video (like the Disney cartoon of the same name) is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of this title. It's simply more appealing than other low-cost math programs for kids. The adventure setting is also a great hook for kids, and it keeps them engaged far longer than the usual math exercises after unrelated math exercises in other programs. It's fantastic for numbers and shapes. br>br> Mosaics, geonyms (a type of mosaic competition against a computer opponent), and triangle (tangram type) key puzzles are all excellent examples of games that cover shapes, spatial, and geometry. A 100 grid changing wall, as well as the rest of the program, are well-stocked with numbers. A very entertaining crystal mixing logic game to make potions to free Aladdin from the genie vortex is also well done in a number wall. All of these are appropriate for younger children, and my 5-year-old son enjoys them (with a little parental assistance). br>br>On the other hand, subtraction is only covered incidentally as a fallback when your children make an addition error and need to go backwards. Also, division and multiplication are only covered briefly, and not to the third-grade level suggested in the documentation. The fruit trading game, on the other hand, is an excellent way to introduce algebra in a fun and novel way. br>br>Overall, it's a great introduction to math for kids who can count to 30 and have had some previous math experience. If your children are reluctant to learn math but have seen the Aladdin DVD/Video, they will be enthralled by this fantastic math quest program. The adventure/quest to save Aladdin and his friends is also a great way to improve logic skills, and will appeal to the goal-oriented child who is not interested in doing "pointless" homework exercises. If you're willing to sit and help your children at first, this is an excellent purchase.

Fun Math
5/5

This is the third time I've purchased Disney's Math Quest with Aladdin. My three children are homeschooled, and each disk has been worn out in turn. It's the third time I've done this. year- Now it's time for the elderly to speak. The player must use math skills such as greater than/less than, addition, subtraction, multiplication, patterns, shapes, sequences, mosaics, and even finding a path on a grid and following directions to continue finding the characters and items in the game. If you can stand the bird's voice (which, by the way, is the voice of "Digit" on PBS's "Cyberchase"), you'll enjoy these games as well. Many of them remind me of an old circus.

The graphics and design of this game are outstanding. Unfortunately, the good stuff comes to an end there. It's extremely easy and does not pose any difficulties. I bought it for my seven and four-year-old children in the hopes that they would enjoy it on different levels, but they quickly became bored. They both completed the most difficult level (there are only three) twice and then decided they didn't want to play it anymore. I haven't seen anything that uses subtraction in the game, and it doesn't go above single digits for additions. Even for a four-year-old, logic problems are simple. br>br>It isn't entirely a waste of money because it isn't excessively large, but it comes close.

However, it is only available in limited quantities
3/5

I bought this for my almost-7-year-old son and tried it out on my own first; the graphics were fantastic, and the games seemed engaging enough. BUT. I had no idea the game had so little to offer. I was almost done with it when I took a quick look. Basically, there are only 14 games (I believe that is correct) and once you've completed them, you're done. its over. My son played this game in less than 2 hours (it could have been faster, but the screen changing was a little slow at times, and we have a 1gig/Athalon computer). ) He liked it because he's a goal-oriented person, and solving the story is more interesting to him than doing tasks for no reason. But . what now? We'll be done with this game after a few more hours of playing at various levels.

One of our top picks
5/5

When my daughter was around 7, I bought it for her. She struggled at first, but the challenge was so compelling that she persevered until she mastered the necessary skills to complete the game. Meanwhile, her younger brother, who is only five years old, began to observe. With a little help from his big sister, he was soon able to win every game. He is in first grade and achieves 100% on all of his math examinations. I believe that playing Aladdin helped him to understand math better. He is still playing the game at the age of seven and enjoys it.

When I was in elementary school, I had a lot of trouble with math
5/5

This game was given to me as a Christmas present when I was in second grade (1998). When I was in elementary school, I had a lot of trouble with math. This game was one of my favorites (Aladdin was my favorite movie), and I had no idea it was supposed to be educational.
