Quicken is how I keep track of my finances (banking, MM, and CDs), as well as my investments (brokerage and retirement accounts). I want all of my data to be saved on my computer and backed up. I don't use online portfolio trackers or store anything in the 'cloud. ' I do all of my transactions by hand and only download quotes. Quicken Deluxe is well-suited to my work habits. I am not a fan of the subscription-based model. Quicken as a foundation, and would prefer to go back to a stand-alone purchase and upgrade every two to three years for newer versions. I'm actively looking for a non-profit organization to work with. Quicken can be replaced with a subscription.
In order to download financial data, I now have to replace the version every year, rather than using it for three or four years. I'm trying to find a replacement.
Renewal of Quicken, or subscriptions, was once required only if you wanted to receive updates. Those are no longer the days. br>br>I recently discovered that Quicken would not accept my login information, and I was unable to log in. (This was correct. ) Resetting the password resulted in the same issue. When I contacted customer service, they told me that the only way to fix the problem was to renew my subscription. That won't happen because I don't use, need, or want the online features. br>br>As a result, Buyer Beware. If you do not renew, your ability to use it will be disabled at some point.
