My small dog needed to be kept quiet while undergoing hip surgery, so I bought this. I didn't want to put her in a crate because she'd be too embarrassed. As a result, having an open pen seemed like a better option to me. We were able to make two pens out of this single package, and we could have made three if we had wanted to. It was fine to put together, if a little tedious. We did, however, succeed. Having two pairs of hands on the task is beneficial. Overall, it met my needs, so don't throw away the tools that came with it; you'll need them to disassemble it. I didn't have any concerns about her attempting to flee. The small pads on the bottom helped keep it steady on our wood floor, and I thought it was a solid and decent product.
