Questions & Answers

Can anyone tell me if anyone has ever experienced a leak of urine soaking into the wood Does there exist a nonexhaustive list of possible answers Is there any kind of toxic wood sealant I could use on the ?

Aspen is the bedding I use on mine and I've had it for a few months now. As far as I know, my hamster has not peed on the wood, the place doesn't smell, and no coating was used. The coating is recommended to prevent damage, but even so, it is recommended to coat it just to be sure. The edge of things is where I like to live. You are YOLO.

Do I need to bake this so that the mites don't get inside?

It's not a bad idea to bake them anyway since they could be exposed to a great deal during shipping. But I didn't do it and I had no problems.

Can a chinchilla fit in this?

There's no way a chinchilla which is as big as my dwarf hamster could fit into this hideout

What will it be like for a Syrian?

My Syrian and I bought this for him, and we are thrilled with it! The house we live in and the products we purchase from this company are wonderful.

Hamsters can't go outside because of health reasons
5/5

Then I added it to the enclosure I keep my hamster in. If I am completely honest with you, he loves it to bits. After six days without seeing him, I am feeling a little down. From his old sleeping spot, he moved all his items into the new place. It used to be that he ran constantly in his wheel. Leaving the house is something he never does. A super homebody, he's become obsessed with staying at home. The last thing I thought of was his death. My panic caused me to take the roof off, and he started getting very upset. I don't know what he does in the other rooms as I only see one room where he keeps all his food. There's less food around and the water is running out so I’m sure he leaves the house at some point. However, I do agree with you. It turns out that he is in love with the house in the end. Possibly he has posters and plumbing on the inside. I don't know. He is now responsible for that area.

This house is the most favorite place of our Syrian
5/5

Despite the fact that it's quite small, our Syrian hamster absolutely loves it. A week ago, he gave up using the bed in his box in the basement and moved everything into this one. He has a tube that comes up from the "basement box" of his cage right into the house, and then uses the hole in the roof to get into his hidden hiding place. His food is stored in one large room, as you can see in the pictures.

Exactly what Syrians are looking for! The hide is amazing and the build is fabulous! As I didn't realize before that it was reversible, it's easy to turn it however you like
5/5

Overall, I'm very pleased with the top. Besides being the perfect size for my Syrian hamster (and females are bigger than males), it's also worth noting that it is also built to last. I find it so hard to find products for hamsters that are of acceptable size, let alone nice ones, so this is amazing. You don't have to be concerned about it being small if you are. I am certain that it is If I had the choice, I would use it for any hamster or mouse (maybe not gerbils or hedgehogs). The ham herself loves it, and it's well worth the money as well.

It is ideal for Syrian hamsters that are large
5/5

It was crucial for me to have a large house that would not take up too much space and was safe for my Syrian hamster to chew on. This is my dream house, and I am thrilled to have found it. In the 3-D Despite being the size of a standard room, the cage can fit within the 50-gallon capacity. The top of the box can be used to put her food dish and she can make a nest inside. There is a natural look to it rather than a plastic feel to it, and that is very appealing. My husband and I both loved this house so much that we purchased another immediately for our Syrian male pals!.

The holes are the size of the Syrians, so Hamsters love it
4/5

I think you should seal it completely first, and make the In addition, I purchased this on Feb26 of the As I write this, it is July 30 of the Therefore, it has been 5 months since I received it. As it arrived, it had a few spots where the attaches were coming loose, so I had to fix it with glue. The wood products from most brands are not sanded properly when they are hamster wood. Feel this way The smoothness of this is pretty good. There are no splinters on my hand after running my fingers However, it is somewhat rough in places as if it could have been smoother. In that case, I did not sand the wood. A durable design Some of the paint did need to be glued on, both when it was first received and after it had been retouched a number of times. Please note To keep the lid in place, it is attached with two wooden dowels. A standard problem with this stand is that it wobbles when you move items around or use the top as a hamster wheel stand. This could be made better by attaching the lid via a hinge or by adding Please note The wooden dowel can be bought anywhere that sells basic hand tools, even if they're very cheap. Still, I have to say this. A wooden object should be sealed or not sealed You can see stains left behind by water and The fact that it is portable makes it nice to use in other rooms of the house. The size of the pet is similar to that of a Syrian hamster. there is no need to worry about dwarf-sized fish). As you can see in the video, I have a Syrian man with long hair who does just fine. For hiding pouched food, he uses the small chamber in the far right. The one in front of it is close enough for him to use it as a nest. As a toilet, he uses the chamber next to his nest (middle chamber most distant from camera). Lastly, there is a toilet at the far left of the room. Are there overflows? The nest is loved by him. * * * For All Syrians as shown in the picture
And all hamster breeds smaller than that can be used if If you do not have glue on hand or you want to buy some, I recommend you purchase it. As for the glue, I used Children's School Glue since it is non toxic and safe to use on pets, but wood glue cannot be used on pets nor is it safe to put in their mouths (keep in mind that they chew naturally). Allow kids to calm down if they sense chemical odors. IMPORTANT NOTE Hamsters and humans have sensitive respiratory systems, so if it smells strong to you, then it will be strong to them as well. I would also recommend purchasing more dowels or even better, purchasing hinges to ensure that the lid stays It cannot be fitted more securely than it was designed to be by The pros are It did not need to be sanded when purchased.
It was cheap.
The holes were Syrian in size. (In America, Niteangel and AndWe are the only brands that offer Syrian sized entry holes and chamber openings. It is Syrian hamster approved and loved! All holes are the same size. The following cons If you don't want to hear the hamster jumping on top of the lid, you'll need to make the lid more secure. It will require you to purchase or use a wood sealant first. I didn't and did not have to. My bag is stained now and I need to clean the areas around the urine with warm water and a toothbrush. After that, I should let it dry Wood is porous, so no matter how often you spot clean and deep clean the cage, it will still stink, regardless of how often you clean it.

It's great to see hamsters living in such an amazing Only two of them came out damaged
3/5

The fact that they are not common all over is amazing to me. Hammertails live in burrows with numerous chambers, commonly including sleeping and potty facilities, as well as food storage facilities. It has happened that some big Syrians who couldn't fit into the typical Syrian huts were able to fit in the next size up, but they were too big to fit in the next size up. Since I have had so many hamsters, I have not been able to train them to go potty The majority of their peeing occurs in their huts! I have found the perfect home to solve all of your Would that it had been available to all of my Syrians in the past! Despite all of the pee corners in my house, Dexter doesn't seem to understand the concept. I have observed him using the first chamber as a grooming chamber, and as an observation chamber after upgrading his hut (where he keeps food so he can sleep on it). He will not tell me what he does with the sleep chamber, however. In this way, he can get a better sense of where he is before stepping outside. I love that it fits into my 40 gallon tank perfectly. I love that this has a lid so I can lift it without damaging all the hard work that my hamster had put into it. The typical hut you can buy when you need to check on your hamster destroys its nest. Having just acquired 3 babies, I would like to order these new huts as soon as they are available. Update After they were finally in stock, I bought the two remaining ones I needed, and they both came in with parts of the seam popping off in the same area. Though we were not sure whether the boxes were damaged in transit or not, they appeared fine. It ended up that they needed to be glued, and we must now wait for the glue to dry before the boxes can be used. I think it's a bit expensive for the quality.

Update A seam began to pop open again after 3 months. A Syrian friend of mine, who suffers from mental illness, had his house taken so he could glue it I really like the idea of these huts, but the quality just isn't there. Moreover, they are not sealed, so they will just soak up pee. This is something to consider if you decide to purchase them.
