Despite the fact that it's quite small, our Syrian hamster absolutely loves it. A week ago, he gave up using the bed in his box in the basement and moved everything into this one. Overall, I'm very pleased with the top. Besides being the perfect size for my Syrian hamster (and females are bigger than males), it's also worth noting that it is also built to last. I find it so hard to find products for hamsters that are of acceptable size, let alone nice ones, so this is amazing. You don't have to be concerned about it being small if you are.
