What a surprise! In order to place a vivarium for my grandson, I'm in the process of setting it up
5/5

In the course of collecting critters for my grandson to observe around our area of Southeast Alaska, I was planning to collect some very little critters. Using Josh's Frog's Biobedding and ABG substrates, I mixed them together. They were placed over Josh's false bottom with a barrier between them. only one flat rock located there that I baked in my oven after washing and scrubbing it. It was wonderful to find a miniature snail traversing the rock this morning. As tiny as a button, it is not even 1mm in diameter. I wanted to show you the snail's iridescent shell and flat like a tire. As you can see, I am not upset by it. There are even fish flakes on the rock, and I spritz the rocks in the tank. There could be other live critters in the substrate that I am not excited about, and I am worried about their presence. In general, the substrate mixes appear to be of high quality. It is okay if it has a snail on it, but for the most part I am satisfied with Josh's Frogs substrates. The stowaway may be contrary to many people's objectives. I am sure other people would be horrified by it. A stray hitchhiker was mentioned to me like a stray car, which made me want to write about it. The first update is as follows Among our natural decorations, as well as plants, isopods, and a darkling beetle, we have some local ones. The snail has grown to about 3mm in length. Despite its dark body, it has a very slimy texture. It seems to be a type of glass snail, after doing some research. There seems to be little chance for it to grow significantly. As it stands, Joshua's substrates are beneficial for everything in our vivarium. This is an update for 7/13 Our vivarium has been set up for about six months now. Many isopods ripped through the substrate, shifting it in an uneven pattern caused by their tunneling. Due to the taller decor's unstable footing, that became a problem. Thus I decided it would be a good idea to turn the soil and smooth it out a bit. I I now understand how Josh's Frogs refers to it as There were also young earthworms and small millipedes along with the original garlic glass snail, of which there are now nine. All of them seem like healthy additions to the crew of isopods and springtails that I intended to clean up with. Until now, I haven't been able to set up another vivarium due to not having enough Josh's Frogs BioBedding.

This would suit a crested gecko well
5/5

This is my second time setting up a bioactive tank, and I am new to the scene. Last time I used a different substrate and it mold within a week and only got worse, so this time I started from scratch and used this substrate. To make the charcoal even more resistant to mold and to absorb odors, I mixed in a little extra charcoal. I haven't seen a spot of mold since then. Despite the fact that I haven't moved my crested gecko in quite yet because I am slowly filling the tank so that I don't have a mold problem again, I think he will enjoy It has been a week since I planted my three plants, and they seem to be doing well. As of now, there have been no signs of drooping from the soil, but I was worried it wouldn't have sufficient nutrients for them. Among the things that I recommend and that others have also suggested is Make sure the soil is baked before using it. Using two cookie sheets at a time, I baked mine at 350 for an hour, before removing them. Any creature that lives in the soil that you do not want is killed by this method. If you are going to add it to a tank, it should be cooled before you use it, and you should hydrate it a bit so that the dust doesn't get It will be a great help to your buggies! Try feeding your cleanup crew a slice of squash if you don't plan on moving critters in there unintentionally (you shouldn't because the plants need some time to settle in and root), so they can stay on the plants. My dog went nuts over it as it rotted, and he liked it more as it rotted. I wish you all a happy herping experience!.

This is an amazing product
5/5

We have more options than any major brand or pet shop. It's way better now. It will be my intention to leave this review on each and every product I order. I am beyond happy and have been for the past couple of days. I purchased plants with the substrate and false bottom layer in 10 qt each. This is the highest quality substrate I have ever used. It was obvious even before I helped myself to it that it would be good before I even opened the box! It's wonderful to see plants in bloom. There was a small patch of brown on an inside leaf of one plant. The problem can be solved in a few days with the right help! I like the smell of them very much! It's a good package as well. It was almost impossible to find any soil on the inside of the Here is a photo for my six month old gecko who finally got to go home with his big brother. The live plant I set up about two years ago through Petsmart and a local nursery is 4 years old and I went with the live plant at that time. We spent hours sifting through a nursery looking for four different plants between the false bottom, substrate, and searching for it forever. The amount of money I spent with you guys was literally half that I spent with the big box store!! As a Petsmart employee at the time, I received a discount on the pet supplies purchased. My desire is almost to get another reptile so I can add to my collection with You guys are awesome! I'm glad to have found you guys. And I don't have to wait any longer. I did the layers in a little over a day. Ten days was supposed to be the average lifespan of the plants. A couple of days early, they arrived. As always, thank you very much! There is no doubt that speed is the key word!.
