They are, in fact, entirely plastic.
Thank you for your inquiry. There is no wire in this item. However, this is a terrarium decoration and should not be used in an aquarium.

Other plants are more appealing to me. The main problem with this for me is that it has a main suction cup at the base of a five-branched stem. There are some twisty dangly bits on each branch, but no additional suction cups (which would be simple to add). If you want to spread this across the glass of a terrarium (as I intended), you'll need to add some other elements to make it look nice and evenly distributed. Most small animals can probably climb it; the plastic is thick and fake, but it's still attractive. If you want it to hold a specific form, I'd say you'll need more suction cups to get it where you want it. This is something I'll keep in mind for when I need to switch things up. You could arrange it very nicely if it were spread across the tank's floor. I like the plant, but I think I'll save it for a later tank because I have other things in my new setup that I want to try out first before the crabitat becomes too cluttered. The leaves are approximately 2 inches in diameter. From the base of the leaf where it attaches to the stem to the tip of the leaf, it's about 5" to 3" long, and it's about 1. 25" wide. In the fattest part of the leaf, it measures 75" across. I'm not using it underwater, but because it's made of beefy plastic, I'm confident it would hold up under water. I'd start by removing it from the main wired stem, but I believe it's well-coated enough that this isn't necessary.
The gleam on the leaves is obnoxious, and I'm debating whether or not to put it in the tank. The leaves' edges are much sharper than I'm used to.
I separated some vines to spread the color around.
It took less than a week for the product to arrive. Although the delivery time is commendable, the product itself appears to be of poor quality. The leaves have no resemblance to real leaves. In my enclosure, I have other vines that would put the product I recently received to shame.
I had no idea it would be a hard plastic vine, but it adds a splash of color and my frogs don't seem to mind. They haven't used them in a long time.
Fake plant is very nice. They were sold out when I saw them at a reptile show. For my crested gecko enclosure, this is a very unusual and colorful plant. I really like it, and I also bought the brown and green one, which is actually orange and green. It's nice to get a break from the usual reptile store fare.
My Blue Tongue Skink loves to hide under the leaves, so I bought it for her. It looks fantastic. It was delivered quickly.
Fits in nicely with the rest of our greenery and hanging vines. It has served as a hiding place for our gecko. The suction was excellent, which I had previously experienced with other hanging vine greenery purchased from my local PetSmart.
