If you secure it properly, it'll suffice. It's not the stiffest material, and depending on the size of your cage, it might be too short; I had to buy three and braid them together to support my 9-foot boa.
This should not be an issue. I've had no problems keeping mine in a damp pauldarium.
Suction cups were not included with mine, so I purchased some and ziptied or wrapped them around sturdy objects.
It's simple to operate. It bends and holds its shape no matter how you bend it.

He often relaxes on it or climbs all over it during his nighttime adventures. He's a very "talkative" little guy who has a lot to say about his surroundings. There were a lot of happy squeaks when I showed this to my friends. br>Four stars instead of five because it cracked in two places, but the material isn't dangerously abrasive. br>For scale, here's a photo. I've learned to read his body language and skin tone, so I can tell you he was in a good mood but a little perplexed about being photographed before I picked him up. br>UPDATE FOR MAY 2019: It was only a matter of time before I had to remove it from my gecko because it had developed an unusual yellow mold. I'm keeping the rating the same because an inexpensive fake vine provided my little guy with well over a year of climbing enjoyment.
This made me extremely happy. Such a bargain! So cheap! It's a fantastic product, but it's NOT SUITABLE FOR HIGHLY HUMID TERRITORIES. This is for my hermit crabs, and I purchased it. It is extremely long and wide. For their cage, I needed to cut. Mold is the most serious problem! Mold, mold, mold, mold, mold, mold, mold, mold, mold, mold Hermit crabs prefer a hot, humid environment. This is not an appropriate product for that type of setting.
I am a chameleon advocate and advisor on several forums, including a 25K-member chameleon group. For chameleons, this is a fantastic deal! It's secure, the right size for their grip, and it'll last a long time. It's simple to clean and maintain, and it looks great. This is something I always mention in my caresheets and consultations. Purchase two or three.
I ordered the 6' in the 3/8 size and it was perfect; I was able to zigzag it nicely in the terrarium, and two seemed to be enough for this full-sized chameleon terrarium, though you could fit more, so I might order a couple more to give her more climbing areas. It does not include any hardware for mounting it on the screen walls. I pinched the ends of each and used small bread ties twisted into a loop to attach it to each bend and wherever else I needed it. Then I attached it to the desired location by slipping wire into the loop and then through the screen. It's light, bendable, and has a nice texture. It's also just the right size for my full-grown veiled chameleon's adorable little feet.
My veiled chameleon is still a juvenile, so my thicker bendy vines are a little too wide for her to grasp safely. And the other thin vines I have in there are a little too frail to make me feel safe that she won't fall. br>br>These, on the other hand, are incredibly poseable, solid, and sturdy, with the perfect circumference for her tiny hands. I'm pleased with these vines because she is maturing but still has a long way to go.
Thin, to be sure. It's ideal for babies, going from a baby to a juvenile chameleon. Even an adult veiled or jackson could use it for support, though it wouldn't be ideal as their primary route from point A to point B. It bends beautifully and holds its shape. By slipping each end through the steel aquarium lid holes on each diagonal end, I was able to connect it to my tank. Then I slid it back into the lid, this time in the hole next to the first, and twisted the piece around the aquarium's vine. Since then, it has stayed put. As seen in photographs. It also appears to be genuine. It has the appearance of a branch, with lumps and twists in some places. It's not just one thin cylinder from one end to the other this way. Photos are also included. It was a good deal for the money. Pet stores that sell name brands want at least twice as much. Smaller reptile shops demand triple the amount. The price, especially for the quality, is hard to beat. Make sure it's for a smaller/younger reptile, such as a baby or juvenile veiled or jacksons chameleon, a baby panther chameleon, vine snakes, baby tree dwelling snakes, and so on.
For two of my snakes, I bought this vine. They're both arboreal, which means they live in trees rather than on the ground. The natural look and feel of these vines is fantastic. Coiled up in the package was a single six-foot strand of vine. It's made of a harder foam-like material with a metal rod running through it like a hanger. I was able to cut the vine into the sizes I needed for my tanks with the help of some heavy-duty scissors. br>br>The metal piece in the middle allows it to be easily molded and retain its shape. I was able to curve the ends of the vines around the logs in the tanks for a more natural look, and they can move across or lay on the vines. This was a fantastic deal for a six-foot piece of vine, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural look. In all of my tanks, I use live plants, and these appear to be a natural fit. This is an excellent product.
Suction cups were not included!! If I'd had them, I wouldn't have had to toss it, as I'll explain below. Maybe you'll be lucky and get the suction cups. br>br>It didn't matter; I had to toss them out of the hermit crab cage after one of them died about 2 inches from a section. It had taken in the odor. br>br> I wouldn't recommend it for hermit crabs because of the smell absorption, but On the other hand, if it had come with the suction cups, it would not have sat in the substrate absorbing the odors.
