It is not safe for me to ride the mare while I am treating her with this product. She is very uncomfortable due to her ulcers, so I allow her to rest while we treat them. During this uncomfortable time, I usually remove the grain from her diet and soak the hay in water. The choices I make are my own and not dictated by my veterinarian. It just seems to work best for my mare with this combination.
In each tube of UlcerGard, there are 4 doses.
Every syringe contains more than one dose.
Using this before you trailer is a good idea.

Consequently, I think it does the job it was designed to do. The price is WAY overpriced, and frankly, I think it is a fraud to sell this product. You can save over 75% of your money by buying some omeprazole tablets, finding out the appropriate dosage for your horse, and getting them. The specific purpose of ulcer gard was to heal ulcers - never used it to do that - In essence, it is omeprazole in a tube with a price tag added on to it.
He recently had a very serious episode of colic, which was typically due to gas. My horse is 24 years old and has never before been sick with colic. I saw my veterinarian for colic and he run blood tests (coming back normal), and then my gelding would improve for a few days and then lose his weight again. Considering his very pampered and easy going life and the fact that he had not changed his feed recently, we did not suspect ulcers. searched for solutions on the internet daily as my horse continued to decline. After trying UlcerGard, which did not appear to make a difference at first, we increased the dose to the prescription strength after talking with my veterinarian. His first prescription dose led to him being able to eat again within hours. It has been three weeks since he was hospitalized, and he is fully recovered. As a result, I dropped a star since the price for treating at the OTC dose or prescription dose is expensive, and I hope that more options will become available in the future as well as a lower price as the company's policies allow. I am thankful I was able to save my horse's life because it saved mine.
It was evident that the horse had ulcers since he kicked at his belly when it was tightened. The doctor gave him three doses of this, and now he is fine. A single syringe contains four separate doses in one container.
One of the horses in my stable gets ulcers quite often because he has a megaesophagus. With this product, she is able to get her acne under control and get back to her normal self. She develops ulcer symptoms such as weight loss, tooth grinding (pain), and lack of appetite. When treated with UlcerGard or GastroGard (they are the same product, just dosed differently), she recovers within just a few days. There is no way I could pay the price that the product is But as far as I am aware, there isn't anything else that works on ulcers.
Ulcer guard does exactly as advertised and also has the benefit of giving a calming effect since the "upset stomach" that occurs during a show When I show with my saddle seat horse, I use it all the time and I'm always happy with the results.
This is used by my daughter for her horse who tends to suffer from The dosage for trailering the horse and for barrel races is also believed to be the same when used twice a day on a routine basis. There are no apparent problems with it. In my opinion, the cost is too.
This medicine is prescribed regularly for the maintenance of our senior mare, who struggles with ulcers. Regardless of cost, I have found ordering from this site to be at least a few dollars less expensive than purchasing in other places. The program is extremely fast and works well. A dose of Ulcergard gets her feeling better in about an hour, even if she starts to feel "off". My mare hasn't gone off feed in months because of this product. As a result, we use it for maintenance now, as recommended by our vet.
