The situation is unclear to me. It seems to me that you can do it.
While I don't know for sure, it appears that the battery compartment is not sealed, which would mean that it is not waterproof.
There is a plastic component to this object. A possible metal coating could be made of plastic.

In addition to the probe, the unit can also be placed easily. It would be better if the probe's cord were to be just a little bit longer, to allow it to be placed in a larger tank (it's okay, but If you want to conserve battery power, you can leave the unit on or turn it off. My only wish is that the display would light up as soon as the unit is powered While it is too soon to say if the suction cups will last, so far they have performed as expected. Though I do not know how long the battery is expected to last, it appears to be a common size for watch batteries, and it should be easy enough to replace for a decent price. The product was great. I would buy it.
What a horrible thing it must be to purchase a product to ensure the safety of your fish tank, and it leads to the death of six fish and five It took me a while to realize this thermometer was 15° C There is a climate difference of 20 degrees. In my constant quest for warmer temperatures, I raised the heat of my tank a lot. It was then assumed that the heater had broken, so it was replaced. As a result of a massive die off of my aquarium inhabitants, I checked the temperature with my meat thermometer and found it to be 92 degrees Fahrenheit. That is a totally useless piece of gear. Don't be a cheapo like me and slaughter your fish in the process. It's better to buy midrange rather than garbage like this. As well, the suction is poor, and the text is difficult to read. There should be a ban on these scammers at Amazon.
Some reviews claim that one suction cup works poorly. There are two suction cups on both and they are 100% useless. I find it sad that they haven't upgraded their suction cups. They don't hold on longer than a minute (if I'm lucky), but the thermometer seems to work! As the wire is really long, I leave the box meter on the table despite the fact that the suction cups do not work.
My wife's medieval-themed game is great too. This thermometer was more appealing than the previous one, since it kept floating around randomly in the tank, so I "upgraded" her to it. There isn't much suction on the cup, it wouldn't adhere to anything but the glass, and that was only with some gentle prodding. Rather than continue to work on the sensor, I just tucked it away behind the tank's false back. Readings from other thermometers in my possession don't seem to match up with the one I have found Every one of my thermometers is made at the same factory, so who knows. It's a good deal for me, and she's also satisfied.
As an added benefit, it measures the exact same water temperature as my $50 laser thermometer, which is incredible for such a low price! The cable is very long, which allowed me to mount it in the exact spot I wanted while still having the cable run behind me hidden!.
What else can a dollar store watch tell the same time as a Rolex watch? You can if you want to, but the question is, how long for. The unit is accurate, but it will not last long. The use of this near children or pets is no good. There is a button that sticks, and I am afraid of dropping I am lucky that it is not in a heavily traveled A little bad, but good enough.
The anticipation for this was really high for me. In my 5 gallon aquarium there is a Betta fish, and I want to ensure that the water is warm enough for him. It's sometimes listed as warm as 82 degrees on the thermometer, but I know for a fact that the water isn't even that hot. Even though I've swum in water as hot as 80 degrees, I'm not feeling that warm right now. There is a major problem with the accuracy of this thermometer. Don't take chances.
This is the second one I've bought. Despite they both appeared to be accurate, the hard way of discovering that neither had been maintaining My fish turned out to be tasty after all. In spite of this thermometer reading 79°, a small dip of the glass thermometer registered There is an 8° difference between this one and a glass thermometer that I am currently using to supplement the other one. Both times, the thermometer registered a temperature that was well below what it actually was. I was pleased with the low cost of the thermometer, but I cannot endorse this one.
