There will be a difficult time reading the numbers if your tank does not have a bright background, whether it is rocks, aquascape, or an actual background behind your tank. The most annoying part about this is the fact that I tested it against my current sticker and a digital probe, as well as Hannah's 81 was the same temperature determined by the digital probe and the Hannah. My initial reaction to this product was skepticism, but I was willing to give it a try, and as soon as I opened the box, I knew it was going to be a great one. This thermometer is very accurate, as I found out from another thermometer I have that I have installed in my aquarium. With the built-in functionality, it will blink the temperature when it falls below or rises above the set temperature limits, which you can set with your finger.
