The unit is good enough for what it is, and it appears to be accurate enough to meet especially like that it includes batteries and suction cups for both the probe used to attach inside the aquarium and the unit. To conserve batteries, I usually turn the display on when I need it to view the aquarium's temperature, then turn it off when not in use. A temperature accuracy of +/- 2 degrees I would say that, as far as accuracy goes, it is not spot on, but close enough when comparing it with other thermometers for checking the water temperatures. It will take time to gauge how sturdy the button is with all those turns on and off, but in my case, I'll only check the aquarium's temperature at least every other day or so since I also have a standard glass thermometer inside the cabinet. It was a good buy and worth the money.

The temperature went up to 84 degrees in the summer heat. that I was acceptable to use a heating element with a Betta fish and I noticed my fish seemed happier after using it. There is a lesson to be learned after the sticker thermometer in my possession The crap they make is terrible. It seemed as though nothing was wrong with my fish but it started dying. However, I was surprised to feel how cold the water was when I tried to remove a dying plant from the tank, despite an official thermometer stating the temperature was correct. This sticker was more accurate than a sticker on the tank outside because I am sure anything is more accurate than a sticker on the outside to tell you the temperature in the tank is a safe tropical fish temperature and that my fish were literally being killed. As a result of this thermometer, my fish have been looking vibrant again and the tank has stabilized.

When I purchased a used tank, the heater was set at 82 degrees but it is actually keeping the water around 75 degrees. Double-checking the temperature with a meat probe reveals a 1 degree difference between the temperature here and the temperature on It is my meat probe I trust more than this $12 item, but being off by 1 degree as long as it stays consistent is not an issue.

It's amazing how much my fish can squeeze into small spaces so she managed to separate the heater from the wall, but she has not yet done that with those suction cups!
The thermometer works great, I wish there was an LED option for an easier If we have the lights on, the numbers are easily readable, but at night when everyone is worried about leaving their heaters on, it is not readable. I use the flashlight app on my phone to read it. Not that great of an inconvenience, but it is still not big enough to be annoying. The device has only been in my possession for four days, but it is incredibly well designed and I love how small it is! A new update So far, I have not had any issues with overheating since I first bought it more than a month ago. There may be times when I notice that it is a little warm (if it gets to be close to 83 degrees, I will open a window), but I don't use my AC or heater. Except for when I clean the tank, I have yet to unplug it!.
