How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

It is the latest offering from Kessil, the A360X TUNA BLUE LED LIGHT.
In comparison to the A360WE or A360NE, the A360X has a LOWER PROFILE, but a brighter light. Due to its redesigned, high-quality sunflower heat sink, the lamp has a low profile design with better light output. A 360NE or A360WE are 25% brighter than the A360WE. The area of coverage is 30" x 30". More color control is available with the A360X. Having greater color control, the 360X can produce unlimited color combinations for aesthetics while at the same time maintaining its performance. In order to view all colors, you will need the Kessil Spectral Controller X.
LOW DIMMING is a feature of the A360X. The transitions are smoother and the dimming is more consistent, and there is a moonlight effect. It is also smarter. Using the K-Link communication method, users can network multiple A360Xs together and set individual groups with different programs to run. This is an advancement over the previous plug-and-play 0-10V method. The controller can be used to control up to 32 lights at once.
Kessil A360X Tuna Blue LED Aquarium Light works seamlessly with the Kessil Spectral Controller X (included) and allows you to control the intensity of the light and the color mix using the built-in timer. You will be able to control the red, green, and violet/indigo LEDs with the Controller X. As with the A360W, even if you do not use the controller, the A360X has the two knobs. With a knob, you can control overall intensity and with a knob, you can control mixture of the blue/white LED spectrum.
The 360 now has a brighter 90 Watt display than older versions. It emits a much brighter light than a 250 watt metal halide. Note that its maximum output is 90 watts. In onlookers' eyes, you'll see considerably less output if the white or blue LEDs are dimmed.

A 36" long tank is in my possession. SPS tanks are my fav, and I at first had only The corals were happy, so it did the job. Away from my house I have a t5 hybrid aqualife. In the future, I purchased another to suit my own preferences. It was a good spread. The one with one will have a few more dark spots, but will still work

A look back on the past two years
3/5

A exit interview is what I'm calling this. This will be the next lights I have over my tank after more than 2 years with these. Having said that, let's get to the The reef measures 72 x 18 x 13 feet. My aquarium life T5 fixture is using A360x's in place of metal halides and T5. I was one of the first to switch from metal halides to LED, then to AI, then to Radions and finally to these A360x's. Having watched the videos and done my research, BRS convinced me to purchase the package. It dawned on me that I wasn't going to get Radion It has the same level of PAR, but the form factor is nicer and the disco effect is not present. As far as I was concerned, I would be fine with a few colonies of SPS here and There are some structural problems in this setup that do not lend themselves Kessil can't take responsibility for the 2 power cords, but that's not their fault. The "thing" was a large, ugly dust-gathering hoop suspended above a beautiful reef with no rim. As a result of the T5's, the Kessils were overpowered and left a flat appearance on the tank. The PAR readings were disappointing, and honest to goodness, they weren't spectacular. I don't have a tank that is as deep as BRS and my tank is extremely In the original project I spent about $3,000 in lighting for decent PAR levels using LPS, which caused me some pain, but I moved forward. Yesterday I spent $3,100 on Radions that I know will be too bright Sadly, the lights did not make much of a difference. The blooms are pretty and the colors are vibrant, but at the end of the day, the growth wasn't It seems that nothing is taking off in spite of perfect conditions (by perfect I mean stable). As someone who doesn't mess with settings or takes photos during different times, I stayed with the process. In addition to BRS settings and T5 bulbs, I was using height, and the ATI brand. The next day, I thought back to the last tank I had (which I took with me when we moved) and realized that I had grown probably twice that much in 6 months as I have in this tank over the last two The program I used had no presets, no PAR meter, no existing data, and I manually fiddled with the controls. Whenever I was in the mood for it, I would just move little slides up and down until I was happy. A couple of months ago, a ballast in the Aquatic Life T5 fixture failed to function. The truth is, I was secretly relieved as soon as I was able to use the Kessil with arms and get rid of everything ugly. It turned out to be a much nicer look in the end. Rather than shimmering, the water was actually iridescent. After I used the recommended settings for BRS, I was good to go. The plants were not growing, but they were beautiful nonetheless. It's very beautiful to look at them. Ecotech offers a shiny black "UFO with tail fins" that looks so much better than the minimalist design now with the knobs. Water is also affected in an awesome way by fossils. Despite the slow loading time of the app, the controls and layout make it a breeze to program If you have used the spectral or the spectral x controllers, it will be noticeable. Having found this out, we can certainly say that Kessils are purely aesthetic. You should watch the BRSTV videos and read between the lines, because they clearly the reader must supplement with lots of these lights not to mention heavy doses of T5 There are times when the T5s do all the work. It would take 8 over my tank to obtain an adequate spread and PAR for long term success. Over an 18" (or so) wide open tank, I'm unsure of how I would mount that. In fact, even the video for the new a500x shows subtle hints that if you don't supplement, it won't give you long-term positive results. The use of 2 on an aquarium with a 24x24 footprint is also being reviewed in another video. I find it absurd that nearly 400w of LEDs are required for such a small cube! It is true that BRS sells them very well, but they do something ridiculous when they insist I need a 4-bulb T5 chandelier to go with them when I could simply use a 6-bulb Using eight T5 bulbs instead of a single bulb saves me literally thousands of dollars. Why not just switch to T5 bulbs when I am going to change the bulbs? I would be surprised if $1,800 bought all the bulbs we need! "But I don't shine!" A bad report has been received When you switch to T5's, it largely disappears. It is clear that single source narrow light doesn't work for many of us and BRS as well. A large amount of intense light has to be poured into the tank. Although the Kessil is designed to do the exact opposite of what science, logic, and experience tell us, it continues to be marketed and hyped as great. The first Kessel lost his life 2 months ago. 25 months had passed since it was born. There is no pattern to it it will just go out at random. Throughout the cleaning process, I followed the There was no sign of dirt on the surface. Yet it would abruptly stop working for no apparent reason. In addition to the hoop I had to jump through, Kessil offered to refurbish my computer. After they had installed the new light before I had even begun to install the next, the lamp began to flicker. I was watching the blue channel when it died. As time passed, the blues ceased to work as they flickered and hissed. This time we went through two hoops and Kessil replaced the 2nd one (it was technically 23 months and 26 days old when we replaced it last time). One more Kessil drops in the next week. I have also been using it for about 25 months. It took me 4 hoops this time to convince Kessil to replace it, and he is "humming and hawing" about Interestingly, 3 out of the 5 lights all died at the end of the warranty period. It's true that they replaced them, but if I had been absent for 2 weeks, I would have come home to a dead tank or have had to pay thousands on the spot to have the local tank service company replace them. Generally, I found the customer service to be good in my experience. The local reefers report that Kessil apologized but was not sorry referred to them as early as six They are likely being forced to make this change due to the new Radions and reports of their customer service. I believe that their product is flawed, and we all focus way too much on the fact that it is pretty and "innovative" and forget to pay attention to the crucial factor of the "function. " I'd say they pushed the form factor too hard. It would not have been an issue if the A500x form factor had 90W and I believe a more reliable light would be the result. Over the years, I've been working with heat dissipation in computer chips. Then, about 8 years ago, I made something that resembled a Kessil, but without the controller - it is still functional now. With a 100w LED array and optics about 1 inch across, this PC processor heat sink has a fan and a large heat sink. The dimensions are 5" x 1". It is about 5 inches Despite having a 120mm fan and a 4x6 cube of aluminum fins with copper tubes running through, it was still very hot. It's worth noting that the cooling system for the Kessil is barely efficient if it's You should use an air compressor to clean it monthly (to do so, buy a cheap one For this light to produce meaningful PAR, I had to run it at 100%. I've surveyed forums and I don't believe anyone runs it less than that except for ramp up and ramp down on tanks over 20g. think Kessil tested it unaware it was going to have to run 100 percent of the time, which is why you hear about a high failure rate. This light looks beautiful, and I think it would look great over a small 12x12 cube or something like that. In fact, you might be able to run it at 75% with LPS and most certainly with Even though the A360x is not as reliable as 10G, I would happily replace my A160-based PC with one of these units There seems to be a need for an additional ten minutes The A160 has a 20% boost. (The device is *3 years old and is still going strong. ) The Radions are going to be great again. It bothers me that the RMS and lights are made of cheap shiny plastic reminiscent of a kids toy. My goal is to create happy living organisms, and so I am eager to see the process through. Essentially, we are referring to a nano tank light here. The SPS corals that are meant for this tank are very different from those meant for scales. Although a narrow point of light can produce fresh effects, it is not conducive to our objectives as reefers who are trying to cover areas considerably larger than 12 square feet. In addition, it is eliminated by taking heavy doses of T5. In the midst of words like "shine" and "innovation" it's easy to get caught up in fancy words, but we forget sometimes to stop and think about things such as "different" or "fun. " There is no PAR from it at any level lower than run it at 100%, it must be run at 100% even at medium-sized scale The life span of such a tank is greatly reduced.

I have plenty of high quality light to keep my 5 month old Red Sea Reefer alive
4/5

I have plenty of high quality light to keep my 5 month old Red Sea Reefer alive. This is the first Kessil light I've used, replacing a cheaper LED fixture I've had for five months. It has changed the appearance of my tank in a remarkable way, as it provides a much richer, deeper, more vivid coloration. There is no doubt that my livestock is happier and all looks amazing. It's never looked better! The corals are the prettiest color! Immediately out of the box, the light has a premium feel. There is a very low noise level from the cooling fan, and the knobs feel smooth and easy to turn. The only way you'll know it's working is if you place your hand on the vents and feel warm air coming out. Featuring an elegant low profile design, the aquarium can be styled to match any aquarium. Featuring a large cluster of LEDs surrounded by a highly-quality lens that emits beautiful color in all its facets, the cluster is neatly organized. In addition to the light, the water clarity that every aquarist strives for is demonstrated. The cons are A360X comes with all of the Pros and has a few Cons related to cost. It's too early to tell whether the high cost will translate to a high return on investment, but I am hopeful considering the cost of the device. It is also just the beginning of the process to buy the light. To take full advantage of this light you'll have to purchase the accessories separately, such as the Spectral Controller X or wifi dongle, and the mounting arm, both of which are quite pricey. Nonetheless, I am happy with My mistake is a lesson for those who are new to the hobby. If you want to save some money, you should invest right off the bat in a high end lighting system such as the A360X, because you will eventually upgrade anyway once you become more experienced.

The light is amazing but the controls are a cash grab
4/5

Videos from the BRS have already been shown to you. This light is gorgeous and you can't believe how shimmery it is. I really want Kessil to either integrate wireless control or make the dongle or spectral controller under There is nobody using the knobs on top, which are for setting the time.

Look at how amazing they are
4/5

Under the light, a spot with a par of 600+ is visible. There is a radius of 3 inches around it. There was a lot of nice light coverage afterwards. Regardless of whether a planted tank or a reef tank is used, I like the color of the lights. They grew plants perfectly for me for four months and they now are on a SPS dominant Even though it's only been a week, I have yet to find any problems. Although I enjoy the form and function of this product, I have to admit that the price is pretty competitive with the top of the line. In addition, my new lights do not put out as much light as my previous lights and they also have a hot spot that my other lights do not. They also require less power. In my view, they are cost effective since power is so expensive where I live.

In fact, I am likely to use 3 of these rather than two of the competitors brand because I have the money and they just look awesome hanging In order to calculate value for money, you need to determine.

People who are blind
3/5

The Red Sea Reefer 350 is now equipped with the A360we series instead of the A360we series. As a result, X series tanks are so bright, they blind people looking at them. It's pointless to install the extra colored LEDs. I did not see a noticeable difference in my corals with them installed. I bought a Kessil Spectral controller to control them, but it was tricky to use and not very reliable. A month after I purchased the device, it ceased working. The return date has expired by one day. It takes Kessil a long time to reply to its customers and to this day they have not offered to repair it under warranty. As a temporary solution, I got a Neptune VDM module to run it. Despite this, I never actually put this light to use as I decided to buy Deflationary and poorly run company. Very disappointed in Kessil.

It works very well
5/5

As a new user of Kessil, if this light is a sign of things to come, I'm definitely hooked! Though this is an expensive alternative, I ended up buying the Ai Prime light because of its lower price. One wish I have is that it could be programmed. For an extra $100, I purchased a controller to go with it. My only wish is that it came with this light. It had a lot of modes. I have been running it with a t5 hybrid turtle tank and it is wonderful for my corals. It creates a good living environment for my acros as well. My montiporas are growing great in it as well.
