Questions & Answers
As a veterinarian, I've found this device to be extremely accurate in both dogs and cats. I see no reason why it wouldn't work in humans, but I've never tested it on human urine to be sure. My previous refractometer was a human model, and it appears to match the large dog scale on this model quite well.
Yes, there are two scales, one with a dog on top and the other without. one with a cat on top, as well as a serum labeled on the third scale. It only takes 2 small drops of fluid to get a reading, and it's very simple to use.
I don't treat rabbits, but I've noticed that the results of the send-out lab tests for dogs and cats are very similar. For dogs under 20 pounds, I use a cat scale.

The photos uploaded are from pig samples, and the serum sample hemolized, which is why it appears fuzzy.
In practice, this is a very useful tool.
This is a product that I would recommend.
It is simple to use. It's effective. It reads best in bright light, but it can be used indoors as well. If you've ever used a refractometer, this is the same process with a different scale.
Excellent customer service and a fantastic product.
