Questions & Answers

How do I calibrate to zero if there is no zero on the chart?

Are you referring to S.? , You won't be able to calibrate to zero. Because S does not have a Zero Mark. This is the one I bought because I only use Dog's and Cat's U. G !

1) Do you calibrate every time you use it, or only once in a while? 2) Before placing the urine sample, do you dry off the distilled water after calibration?

I would calibrate on a weekly basis for personal use. Before adding the urine sample, make sure the surface is completely clean of distilled water.

Is it necessary to calibrate this? If that's the case, do you mean with water or something else?

If you use it on a daily basis, I recommend calibrating it with water.

Is it necessary to use distilled water?

Yes, only for calibration (to ensure it reads as 1). 000), indicating that your measurements are correct. We use it all the time for our dog who has diabetes insipidus, and it's fantastic!

Pets with kidney disease or bladder stones will benefit greatly from this product
5/5

It is simple to use and aids us in the fight against bladder stones. Allows us to monitor our dog's USG (urine specific gravity) to ensure that he is properly hydrated. Our dog had been placed in the number one position. 030 to 1. Every time we had the vet look at it, it was in the 040 range. They desired that he remain in the number one. range of 020 We can check on him every day (or every other day) with this product and see where he is without having to go to the vet or pay for a lab. When his USG rises during the day, we can simply increase his water consumption to lower it. on a daily basis Until we got a dog urine collector cup, collecting was the most difficult part:  .

The instructions are terrible, but you can figure out how to get around them
3/5

This is a fairly straightforward device, so it should be simple to operate. It is, but the accompanying instructions aren't even correct. The good news is that a quick Google search for "Refractometer Salinity Calibration Solution" turns up a Youtube video that shows you how to calibrate the device in a clear and concise manner; I'm not sure how the printed instructions could have been so badly messed up.

VERY GOOD QUALITY
5/5

This is a critical tool for monitoring the specific gravities of my two bullmastiffs' urine. It is of excellent quality and extremely accurate. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I also like the hard case that comes with it because it provides excellent instrument protection. Thanks V- Trying to find a good deal on this fantastic tool.

Pets will benefit from this tool
5/5

It looks like it's correct. I don't have a positive control other than water at 0 to check the accuracy, but it appears to be accurate. This has been a great way for me to monitor my dog's urine at home and report back to the veterinarian. It saves time and money by reducing the amount of time and money spent running around from place to place.

Why would you spend so much money on a piece of technology? This is just as simple to use and clean as the previous method.
