They were simply flattened and placed in a small ziplock bag with a drop of water. After that, the bag was placed inside a small air bubble envelope. There is no extra insulation or padding. I was surprised the plants survived the two- to three-day journey in hot weather, given how the postal service handles some mail and packages. Anyway, the 3 inch plants are still alive, and I did manage to get three of them with a healthy root system. Let's see if they'll be able to make it in the long run.
Update - After four months, the following occurs: I would definitely order again because the plant has produced a slew of new leaves and is thriving and living its best life. br>br>From the same seller, I purchased two plants - Unlike the other, which was carefully packaged, this one was simply placed in a plastic bag inside an envelope. This resulted in one of the leaves being creased, but the plant doesn't seem to mind - I've submerged it completely and there hasn't been any melting. A word of caution - If you try to bury the roots in the gravel or substrate, the plant will die. To weigh down a piece of decor, use sewing thread or fishing line to loosely attach the stems to it. If not secured, the anubias will float, but the roots should not be buried!.
All three anubias had a lovely dark green color, were free of snails, and had strong roots and rhizomes when they arrived. One was a little thin (only two leaves), but the other two were extremely thick and full. br>I'm still settling them into the tank to see how they do, but they're doing well so far!.
My pieces' rhizomes appear to be spreading out nicely, but the leaves are falling off one by one. I've read in forums that this is normal when the plants are shocked, but I'm crossing my fingers that they survive; I'm hoping I didn't get a bad batch!.
When I went to open it, I was expecting a half-dead plant, as I've had goop and dead plants with other Amazon purchases, even if I opened the box on the day of delivery. There wasn't a drop of plant rot water (brown water) on the floor. There isn't a rotten plant odor. Simply put, this is a plant that is very healthy.
I placed two orders and received a free third. They were all in good shape and had a lot of greenery on them. Two of them were attached to a piece of driftwood, and the third was attached to a stone in another tank. Every single one of them is still alive and well.
So far as I can tell, there are no snails or parasites. I strongly advise you to purchase this item because the seller is excellent. In a month, I'll post another update.
These plants arrived today and are in such good condition that they almost all appear to be fakes. The quality of these items astounds me, and I will definitely use this supplier again!.
