Questions & Answers

Aren't these low-cost options? plants with a lot of light? After a few days, mine became completely translucent, and the leaves are as thin as cellophane tape. Is it possible that this is melted?

Yes, the melting you observed was normal when introducing plants to a new tank; however, aggressive root trimming or replanting can also cause this. The plant usually recovers fine, though it may be a little shorter than before and will take some time to reach its original height. When sold this way, the majority of sword plants are grown emersed (out of the water) for faster growth and production. The plant must adapt by growing new under water leaves while shedding the air breathing leaves because the emersed growth leaves are incapable of living submerged (under water).

Will this plant survive and thrive in a 2-inch layer of gravel? Is it really 3 inches thick?

It will, in fact. It's been trimmed several times.

Is it possible to use this in an outdoor pond (in the San Diego area)?

Perhaps if the temperature of the water remains above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The main problem, along with the clarity of the water, is temperature. Plants should not be planted too deep in order for sunlight to reach them.

Is it safe to use this plant in a saltwater aquarium?

Only saltwater is permitted.

Warning: It's possible that harmful organisms will be introduced into the aquarium
3/5

I had two beautiful fancy goldfish for more than two years. I began to notice health issues within two months of adding live plants to the aquarium. I checked the water for abnormal levels of nitrates, ammonia, and other contaminants and found nothing out of the ordinary. The temperature of the water was set to the recommended temperature. Why did my two fancy goldfish die within two weeks of each other when everything seemed to be in order? The introduction of a live plant was the only stipulation that changed. I didn't realize it until later that live plants could potentially introduce harmful organisms into the tank until I did some more research. The plant didn't come with any disclaimers or instructions for sterilization. I don't know for sure, but I believe the live plants did introduce harmful organisms. This serves as a reminder to other aquarium owners to sterilize their plants before adding them to their tanks.

a size greater than 8 It's a nice plant with a diameter of 12 inches
5/5

Pictures of how much of the plant I trimmed to make it fit in my aquarium, as well as a photo of it in the aquarium after trimming. Shows how healthy the leaves are and how full the plant was before trimming; it still looks good. The plant was lovely, healthy, and full of nutrients. I needed a background plant for my 13" high aquarium, so I chose 8-inch ferns. 12" is a good size. The plant had grown to a size of about 15 inches in diameter. I was able to trim it down to fit, and I'm hoping for some new growth to allow me to trim back some of the larger leaves. It was well-packaged and arrived in excellent shape.

For my fish bowl, it's ideal
5/5

This is an amazing plant. I've never worked with aquatic plants before, but I needed something for a fish bowl, so I ordered this. The plants appeared to be in excellent health when they arrived. I couldn't have asked for anything more, and they went above and beyond to make sure I got these in perfect condition. br>br>The plants were in good condition. packed with nutrients and good for you I unpacked the plants according to the instructions. the wool should be removed There were three plants, each of which was at least 12 feet tall. 15 inches in length br>br>It turns out that I'm not very good with aquatic plants, but it's been over a month and it's still alive, so I'm happy. The plant was too tall for the bowl, and I didn't realize it needed to be completely submerged, so I trimmed back the leaves quite a bit. I do now. The live plant looks great in my fishbowl, and I'd recommend it and this seller to anyone looking for aquatic plants.

In the tank, it looks fantastic! It could be harmed by certain types of fish
5/5

This was something I wanted to put in my 65 gallon tank for both appearance and health reasons. The problem is that one or more of my angel fish ate it up until it was only the leaf veins left. I saw one of my angels ripping apart a chew toy like a dog would! After doing some research, I discovered that some angel fish can do this, but not all. There are some potential solutions, such as algae wafers or simply giving them time to grow out of it, but nothing is guaranteed. br>As for the plant itself, despite the cold outside, it appeared to arrive in good condition; it was nice and tall, which was exactly what I needed for the aquarium. It appeared to be a lot healthier than what they sell in the pet stores around here. br>The seller went out of their way to help me (even though they didn't have to) and earned a long-term customer.

The very first living thing
4/5

My angelfish are spawning, so I wanted to provide them with a natural setting in which to lay their eggs. br>It arrived exactly as shown in the picture. It wilted while I was keeping the roots in water after it arrived, but it recovered when I put it in the take a few hours later. I have LED lighting in a 55 gallon tank, and I've noticed that the leaves are beginning to turn "clear" and yellow on some of them. I believe my light is insufficient, but the lighting care for these plants is measured in watts for traditional lights, which means nothing in the context of LED lights. For the price, I'm hoping it survives; I could have probably bought one locally at a pet store for a lot less. br>I'm not going to put the amount of light on my tank that this thing requires on my electric bill. It's a low-light plant, I've been told.

This plant is ideal for any aquarium
5/5

This plant is ideal for my aquarium. I was worried that because of the heat in my area, it would arrive dried out and dead, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover the exact opposite! It's already a hit with my neon tetras and ghost shrimp! It arrived healthy and green, thanks to the plastic packaging that kept it moist; I'm looking forward to receiving my substrate so I can plant it in the sand; and the amount of plant you get for this price is also excellent!.

GreenPro is one of my favorites
5/5

Plants that are beautiful, large, and clean; Arrived ahead of schedule. br>br>The tall ones on the right are the new plants. As evidenced by the chewed-up gum, My terrorist goldfish likes to eat and uproot everything except anubais, so I made custom anchors out of flat river stones with a hole drilled through them. Because of the plants' size and the weight of the stones, they should be able to stay in the substrate long enough to properly root.

For a small tank, this is a good size
4/5

My tank is tall, and the plant refuses to stay down. It looked like it was going to die, but after removing the dead leaves, it appears to have recovered. I've placed an order for: Anti-Static 5 pcs. This was expected to fix the problem. Floating Ceramic Aquatic Plant Rings for Aquarium Plants Fixing My betta enjoys swimming in it, and mystery snails have avoided it. When they lose their grip on the tank wall, this is a good place to land.
