Yes, co2 is highly recommended, as is proper lighting with enough PAR at the substrate level, as well as a nutrient rich substrate such as Fluval Stratum or a dirted tank capped with sand, but I've had the best results with Stratum type substrates (I use ADA Amazonia Powder type).
It can be kept in the cup for about a week, but make sure it gets enough light. 6- Each day is 8 hours long. Keep the lid on to keep the humidity at a comfortable level. After a few days, you may be able to mist it with water.
This is a miniature version of the larger version. You'd be better off with this than the regular ones, which grow a little faster but look too much once fully grown, necessitating cutting. I let mine grow to full maturity and they still make a nice carpet.
Dwarf harigrass is a plant that requires a lot of light to thrive. Because most light isn't strong enough to reach the bottom of deeper water, it won't grow. If you want this aquarium plant to grow, you'll need a shallow or shorter tank with a lot of light. Outdoor ponds aren't a good idea. The depth of the water is unacceptably high. br>br>SB br>br>SB br>br>SB b

With the buy two, get one deal, this product is a fantastic value. Hairgrass comes in convenient plastic containers, and 3 cups was more than enough to fill my 20 gallon bucket. This stuff is incredibly lush (possibly because it wasn't grown submerged), and it was pest-free. I also purchased some from Petsmart, and there is a noticeable difference. It's a lot more colorful now. br>br>Since it wasn't sold by Amazon, the shipping speed was also excellent. My package was shipped the same day I placed my order and arrived the next day in Jacksonville, FL (from California). Because it was Sunday, the package was held for a day by USPS, but it was delivered the next day early. Overall, I placed my order on Friday and received my plants the following Monday, despite the fact that they were shipped from across the country. I'm not able to find anything negative to say. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> 5/13/2020 This isn't a criticism of the company or the product; it was still a great deal. But, alas, all of my Dwarf Hairgrass died just a few weeks after being planted. This, I believe, is due to the fact that tissue culture plants are grown emersed (not in water) in an environment with plenty of CO2. When you put these in an aquarium, they will melt because their CO2 supply is drastically reduced. New plants will grow from the melted remains on occasion, but not all of the time. br>br>I tried this product again in a 10 gallon tank, this time doing a dry start, which entails planting without filling the tank, misting daily, covering with cling wrap, and so on, allowing the carpet to cover the substrate without filling the tank. br>br>A few months later, when I flooded (filled) the tank, I bought a cheap Fluval 45g co2 kit and set it to 5 bubbles per second (no livestock!). This would be fatal to them). This provided enough CO2 to keep the hairgrass from melting too quickly. I was able to gradually reduce it to one bubble per second over the next few weeks, and the hairgrass has been fine since then, with no melting.
So, obviously, I didn't follow the instructions, and the grass died completely. It turned all yellow, then all clear, and it was completely dead. Gone . Goodbye. I was upset because it looked like a sad wasteland, so I didn't clean out the tank for a while, and the water became murky and disgusting. I replaced the water but, for some reason, didn't remove the dead grass. I was probably still upset about it; a few weeks later, the grass was still there, but I noticed that something was different in the tank, so I left it alone. I sat down in front of it a few days later and noticed tiny green sprouts, the grass was starting to grow back! I've been cleaning up the dead grass around it since it began to grow back a few weeks ago. I'm sure my entire setup is incorrect, but I was ecstatic to try out an aquascape.
I bought all three types of plants for my aquarium from this seller, and I've bought a lot of freshwater plants online, but this seller has by far the best quality! They ship in small cups, which I believe is the key to how well they handle shipping. They were healthy and strong, with firm roots and no mush or dead leaves. Two of my shipments were lost by USPS, but the Seller replaced them right away. Look at how healthy they are in the photos, and I couldn't be happier. The photo of the plants in the aquarium was taken just minutes after they were planted. On a 12G Mr Aqua Long, I just set up this tank and am running Co2 with Chirios full spectrum led lighting.
I had a lot of fun purchasing pre-grown aquatic plants and setting up my own aquaponics system! These plants come in a jelly-covered culture cup; simply clean it before planting. Advantages: br>br>
- a lot less expensive than a pet smartbr>- a fantastic deal (but two for the price of one)br>- Cons: Not as lush, green, or high-quality as pet smartbr>br>
- Three cups were purchased as part of the deal, but they contained less than advertised. My advice is to order more than you think you need, but otherwise it's a great quality produce. br>br>My advice is to order more than you think you need, but otherwise it's a great quality produce. I am very pleased with my purchase: UPDATE: 2 MONTHS UPDATE: 2 MONTHS UPDATE: 2 MONTHS UPDATE: 2 MONTHS UPDATE: 2 MONTHS U This brand of grass is on the left, and this brand of grass is on the right; both were planted at the same time, with the same amount of light and water. However, this brand is performing horribly in comparison! At first, this brand appeared to be greener and more lush than pet smart, but it is now extinct! I am unable to recommend this product any longer.
A colossal (colossal!!) (colossal) (coloss ) section It's difficult to untangle, but it's not a problem. I divided it into three sections and planted it in each section. 5 hairs per portion, directly into my Fluval stratum substrate, topped with eco-friendly as well as a 1- inch sand cap and root tabs that flourish I didn't use it all, despite the fact that I have a 29g tank! The rest is being grown in my plant tank under my light. This was an excellent purchase. Will update in a few days to see if it melts and so on.
I'm no expert, but I'm very interested in aquatic life, and I was excited to finally get some foliage for my tank that will act as a carpet. And we're ecstatic about it. As promised, we got the third one for free. Also included were these fantastic little reusable containers.
They are well worth the money! I am extremely pleased with my purchase; it was well worth the investment! For my aquarium, I did the buy two, get one free deal, and the package arrived on time, with the plants looking super healthy, vibrant, and larger than I had anticipated. All of them have a beautiful root system, and they even come with instructions on how to care for the particular type you purchased. I took a few photos of how they were shipped and how the plants look in my 75 gallon aquarium. If I need other plants in the future I can 100% guarantee I'd get them from this company I can 100% guarantee I'd get them from this company in the future.
When I finally fill this 20 gallon tall aquarium with water, I'm hoping these don't melt too much. Nine containers of dwarf hair grass have been planted densely where I want them in the photo. In the middle of the summer, I planted six containers. I've already got a few runners moving around a few inches beneath the substrate since August.
