Questions & Answers
Yes. There were no snails in any of the plants I purchased from this seller.
They ought to be! The majority of aquarium plants will be eaten by goldfish. Duckweed is one of my favorite foods.
Without the use of a heater, the plants can be kept at room temperature. However, because they come from a tropical environment, they prefer to be kept warm.
Simply place it on top. Excellent outcomes. They can quickly multiply to cover the entire surface, but they require light, so make sure you have an LED top or plenty of natural light.

My frogbit from Amazon arrived in good condition. It was cold outside (about 37 degrees F), and I (luckily) checked my order a few minutes after it arrived (because Amazon had forgotten to send me a delivery notification for once) so I could get it before it died. Because I live on the other side of the country, it had been in transit for a while, and the majority of the frogbit had died or was rotting. The frogbit's roots were all detached, despite the fact that the description stated that they would be damaged. My bonus plant was in much better shape than the one I ordered, but I didn't want it because I had heard from other fishkeepers that it got stuck in their filters, so I pitched it. br>br>After cleaning my tank, I added the living frogbit and a few leaves that appeared to be edible. It was a hit with my betta, who immediately built a nest beneath it. However, most of the leaves I planted died off completely within a few days. A week later, out of the possibly 25-odd I had, I only have 5 left. I received 30, which isn't a particularly high conversion rate. Two of the remaining plants are actively producing new leaves, while the other three are simply resting. They haven't even begun to reclaim their roots. br>br>I'm hoping it'll start multiplying more quickly in a week or two, but I'm not sure what to think right now. Advantages: br>br> bettabr>Cons: packaging, betta's interestbr> Mostly dead plants, significant damage upon arrival (which the company warned about but did not specify the extent of the damage), and no regrowth.
My frogbit is my absolute favorite. Riccia water spangles (as an added bonus). Seriously, the Riccia (Ricciocarpus Natans) is one of my favorite plants! The first pictures show how the plants were delivered. The plants after 24 days are the rest. I had to divide them between my two 5-gallon tanks! Cherry shrimp are one of my favorite foods. Picking at the roots for food bits or tasty microorganisms is a favorite pastime of sparkling gourami. The roots stay short in tanks with medium flow, but they grow like crazy in my sparkling gourami tank with little to no flow. They're so long that they get stuck in the substrate. They need to be trimmed! Overall, I would strongly advise you to purchase these plants. I've ordered live plants before and had them arrive smashed. These aren't dead! Even after shipping to Minnesota for a few weeks. Thanks!.
I took a picture (attached) right away because the seller requested one within 2 hours of delivery (for returns). On the surface, I am pleased with my purchase. The true test will be how long it lasts (we'll see), but for now, I'm a satisfied customer. I'm going to quarantine the plants for a few days, so there will be no tank pictures. I already have a snail problem that I don't want to aggravate (for the sake of safety). br>br>Thank you for allowing me to have an unrestricted experience. br>If I need more plants, I'll first check with this seller and then try again:.
Fast delivery, and the plants were all in excellent condition when they arrived. The delicate roots are often damaged during shipping, but these were fine; it's been a week since I put them in my aquarium, and some of the roots have grown to be over a foot long, with numerous new leaves sprouting. I'd buy it again without question. br>br>Update after one month: I've had to trim the roots three times now because they've grown to the point where they've reached the bottom of my 20 gallon tall container. This does not appear to bother the plants - They've multiplied to the point where they've completely covered the water's surface. Plants that are in great shape.
However, it was packaged in a haphazard manner. Outside was a USPS padded envelope, inside was another USPS small box that wasn't even shut, inside was a bunch of Lilly pads in one bag with dirty water and this goop (see pic), and then a second bag of some other species and more goop (assuming rotted roots), and I knew to expect some, but none of them had roots. All of the Lilly pads that didn't make it are visible in the photo. The half that survived" had it where half the leaves were bent (and I couldn't unbend them) so they are submerged underwater. br>br>I'll keep you updated if they all die or if I get some sort of infestation.
br>Seller followed up right away and took all necessary steps to correct the situation. Customer service is truly outstanding!.
These plants were delivered lush, green, and in good condition. Some root loss occurred, which is to be expected when shipping floating plants. After only a few days, they've already sprouted new roots. I wasn't expecting them to encourage my shrimp to climb all over the roots! This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
Frogbit was the free plant, and as you can see, it's grown quite well from just two plants in just a few months. I ordered two more today, and by the end of the summer, the pond and fish should be a little cooler, with less algae and a lower risk of being eaten by birds. I'm giddy to the point of being overjoyed. br>br>The second and third photos were taken today. They are effective. I'm going to feel bad about squandering these. They continue to return! br>br> It took an entire night to re-cover the entire pond. I'm doing something right! lol I've never been able to get anything to grow in there before (again, 50 fish, maybe 45 now, all feeder fish that are about 2 inches).
