The term "Best By Date" refers to the fact that the product will be at its best in terms of taste and freshness until that date. As time passes after that date, the product will lose some of its flavor and freshness. By that date, it isn't necessarily bad. I hope this has been of assistance.

Douglas, how are you? A 7. GREENIES® PILL POCKETS® For Capsules contains about 30 GREENIES® PILL POCKETS® For Capsules. Package contains 9 ounces.
I've planned ahead of time. The pills were "packaged" into pre-made capsules. The pills have kept very well in a cool dry place after being measured DRY dogfood in daily ziplocs (as I only feed my dog once a day). In one pill pocket, I've "stuffed" up to three capsules. You do have to "work" the "pill pocket," compressing and molding a ball, but I do it all the time; sometimes I lightly dampen my fingers because the product crumbles at first, but don't lose patience because it takes a little longer to get it right.

These were suggested by our veterinarian. They aren't our veterinarian any longer! br>br>At first, they seemed wonderful, but we soon noticed that our adults were vomiting frequently. We used these to give them their rather tasteless vitamin pills (high-quality, tested vitamins - see below). so it wasn't the vitamins that were causing the problem). br>br>These quickly go bad, and the packages lose half of their seal (much like a zip-lock bag). This causes them to dry out more quickly. We're a bunch of idiots - We eventually looked them up on the internet to see if they had any other issues - Hundreds of thousands on consumer affairs website(s) and elsewhere. Many, many one-star reviews can be found on Greenies' own website. br>br>It appears that Mars owns greenies, and Nutro owns greenies. My dogs began to vomit after about three months of using Greenies pill pockets. At first, I assumed it was the meds, so I took them at different times. Some of my medications have been changed. I contacted my veterinarian. I gave the all-inclusive approach a shot. versions in their natural state After that, I decided to make my own pill pouches. The vomiting has come to an end. After reading some of the reviews on this site, I decided to look into Greenies. I adore my dogs even more than I adore myself or pretty much anyone else. My pill pocket recipe will be posted soon.
Please exercise caution when giving these to your dogs! We had to connect the dots a few times before we realized what was causing our dogs' illnesses. They have bloody, loose stools every time these are given to them. There are many people who have the same problem as you if you Google it. Please exercise caution when handling your pets. They are completely reliant on us to look after them. I understand that not every dog has issues with these, but a LOT of them do. I just wanted to let others know about our and other people's experiences.
Pill Pocksts are still useful for administering canine medications, but they've recently evolved into mush Pockets! June 2016 update: The last bag appeared to be in good condition, but I've been encountering bags of mush since then. br>As far as quality control is concerned, this company appears to be lacking in this area. br>A nice product with little competition, but the end result isn't worth it any longer. Wrapping a tablet in deli meat and going from there is less expensive and easier. br>br>Thanks to Pill Pockets, my dogs, most of whom are seniors on medications or fosters on medications, have been willingly and consistently taking their medications. My arctics (Malamutes and Siberians) are enamored with them for some reason. Advantages: br>br> Most any tablet, capsule, or pill can be wadded up into a tasty treat and quickly consumed thanks to the mushy texture. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. What used to be a bag of formed "pockets" has recently been transformed into a foil bag containing bits and pieces of what could have been, or should have been, pockets. True, I have the ability to concoct a mushy story. Ball with meds inside, but after piecing together pockets from parts, my monthly supply (120 pockets for two jumbo Malamutes) is running low. br>br>Greenies, Inc. needs to inspect its output and address its Quality Control issues.
I've been using Greenies Pill Pockets for my sweetie Marcel, who has a variety of medical issues, for years. She's a chihuahua, so she's already a picky eater. I need a LOT of Greenies because she takes several small pills and a large pill that has been broken up. I've always had faith in the Greenies brand and its reputation for quality. Because I paid for it, I should be able to use it. I got the chicken Greenie pill pockets in the Value size bag. They arrived with the bag completely open, a rubber band from our mailman to save the day, and no secure way to keep the Greenies inside the package. When you looked at the bag, it appeared as if it could have been lifted and opened by any child. But it was when I OPENED the bag that I ran into the biggest issue. The Greenies had a crumbly texture to them. They were dry, almost odorless, and most likely flavorless. Marcelle is so irritated that she wants to spit it out. She also eats anything she can get her hands on. It's not right that I have to pay for medication when the precious babies refuse to eat the Greenies. They arrived too late, and it's now too late to send them back.
RISK RESEARCH IS A MUST! I've been using these pill pockets for about a year, but they're suddenly making my dog sick with this new bag. I've tried a variety of flavors in the past, but this one is particularly strong. I'm not sure if it's just a recipe change, or if it's the capsule vs. the tablet. The tablet flavor ratio, or the package's exposure to heat (I live in Texas, and it's summer-- However, I've ordered them from Chewy/Amazon before and have never had a problem). But I've tried giving it to my dog in a variety of ways (with food, with different types of food, and NO, his medication hasn't changed) and it keeps making him empty everything in his stomach until he's vomiting bile. br>br>After doing some more research, I discovered that this brand's products have caused some very bad reactions in dogs and cats, including death. I'm not going to use these pill pockets any longer.
Every day, she takes four of the chicken flavor capsule pockets. These used to be great, but now they're all mashed up in a big lump, broken, dried out, and crumbled. Because pills and capsules crumble, forming a seal around them is difficult. To work, they must be moist. What about businesses that believe they don't need quality control or inspection because they have a good product? Cheez Whiz is a lot better, and it's a lot less expensive.
Greenies' pill pockets are popular with dogs because they are loaded with intense flavors and a lot of salt; however, if you love your dog, you should stop giving him pill pockets as soon as he shows signs of diarrhea. It took me a long time and a lot of effort, as well as my dog's pain, to figure out that his nagging diarrhea was caused by narrow pill pockets. Keep an eye on things.
