Questions & Answers

Is it true that everything is made in Vietnam? I'm done! ?

Please, people, do your homework. If it's made in Vietnam, it's usually fine; the regulations are closely monitored and adhered to in accordance with US requirements, including those set forth by the FDA. China, on the other hand, is a big no-no! Vietnam has been on the rise in the tech world for a long time. Back to SmartBones, some of the most recent cell phone testing and development is taking place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. WARNING: When you order, make sure to check the back of each bag "every" time. There shouldn't be any problems if the stamp reads "Made in Vietnam" and smells familiar. I'd be wary of anything that says "Made in Mexico." There's a difference in the way it smells and looks. That does not always imply a poor product, but I recently received one and returned it. I ordered two 24-packs of minis because they were less expensive than one 32-pack. That explains it.

My dogs adore them, but I recently discovered that they are manufactured in China, so I will no longer be purchasing them. Is there a bone like this made in the United States?

If you're looking for pet food and bones made in the United States, you've come to the right place. You must consider the origins of the ingredients. Many of these companies buy the ingredients in China and "make" the product in the United States so that they can put the USA logo on their product and people will assume it is the product they want. If a product's ingredients aren't listed, you can either email or call the company to find out, or just assume it's imported. Pet Naturals of Vermont is an example of a company that is attempting to deceive you. Although the bags feature an American flag and are labeled "made in America," the product is technically not made in the United States. The business is based in Vermont, and the imported ingredients are "made" in their facility. That data came from them directly. It's deceiving, in my opinion.

Are the mini English Springer Spaniel puppies too small for an English Springer Spaniel puppy?

They are, in my opinion, an excellent size for any puppy breed. My dog weighs about 25 pounds and is a senior citizen. 14 yrs. I give them to her as a snack when she's a bit older. She adores them and has never encountered any difficulties with them.

If my dog treats are part of a discount program in the future, could you please cancel them?

No, I only purchase items that my dog enjoys.

DO NOT BUY! It's a risky investment

BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE! My dog loved these bones so much that they were like canine crack to him; I'm not kidding when I say he would beg and beg for them like he had never begged for any other treat before; I think I fed him these bones for about 6 months on and off. He began to have pooping problems, switching from diarrhea to constipation. He'd also become extremely thirsty after consuming one, far more than usual. Then came the bloody stool, so we took him to the vet for a fecal examination, which came back negative for anything. Then he began scooting a lot (which he had never done before), and his anal area became raw and painful to look at. We took him back to the vet, who said his anal glands were only half full. I'm disappointed in myself for not recognizing the problem with the bones sooner. We've been without bones for almost two weeks, and he appears to be feeling better and healing in his back area, which has scooted about two inches. It rained all day three times in the last week. I'd like to get blood work done and double-check that everything is in order; I have blood work from last year to compare to. These bones appear to be very popular, which is unfortunate. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THESE BONES AT ALL. VERY DANGEROUS. NOT VALUE FOR MONEY.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT AS IT IS NOT THE SAME PB SMART BONE! NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BUY THESE! THESE ARE NOT THE SAME PRODUCTS! The Mini Peanut Butter Smart Bones used to be a source of addiction for my dogs
3/5

When I cut them in half, I was concerned because they WERE manufactured in Vietnam. They are, however, comparable to dog crack. They were the absolute favorite of my dogs. For years, they've been getting one after their greenie! But, a few days ago, I received my most recent Amazon shipment. The bones appeared to be significantly different, which I noticed. I was disturbed by the fact that they were smaller and darker in color. My dogs usually rip it out of my hand, but this time they sniffed it and hesitated before reluctantly accepting it. That was strange. One of the dogs had diarrhea this morning, and the other threw up the rest of the bone! I tried to give them this bone after dinner today, as I usually do, but NEITHER DOG took it! I examined the packaging more closely to see if anything had changed. Yes, they are no longer manufactured in Vietnam and are now manufactured in MEXICO. This batch has a major flaw. I'm going to Amazon and returning it. IF THE PRODUCT IS MADE IN MEXICO, DO NOT GET IT FOR YOUR DOGS. It has a flaw!.

Please do not purchase these; they are extremely harmful to your dog! Long ago, I switched my dog to these instead of rawhide (they're the same thing as dream bones, which we also gave to our dog)
3/5

They were great at first, and he loved them, but the ingredients changed, and they began to make him sick every time he had one. After doing some research, I discovered that the sweetener used in these can't be processed by dogs' bodies. I decided to just feed him various types of natural dog jerky, and we haven't had any problems since we began doing so. It's awful that you can't give your pets food or treats without fear of them being harmed in some way.

Making the dogs ill
3/5

We've been buying these smartbones for five years and have placed 67 orders with them; they used to be made in America, which is one of the reasons we bought them so frequently, and the dogs loved them. However, they are now manufactured in Vietnam, and we believe their quality control has been compromised. They began to make our dogs ill, and they suffered from constant diarrhoea, as others have stated. Our two dogs pooped five times in the house, something they had never done before, and that was the end of it. We stopped giving them smart bones and switched to a different treat, and the diarrhoea was gone in two days, never to return. They need to get these off the market as soon as possible.

I'm not going to buy anything else

There are far too many problems with my health. This is the last product we'll ever buy. br>br>These were treats that we used to give to our dog, and he loved them. We noticed, however, that his stomach was beginning to bloom, that he was having terrible diarrhea, that he was very lethargic, and that he didn't appear to be in good health. He'd get thirsty as well. br>br>As soon as we stopped giving them to him, he became less lethargic, regained his puppy energy, and stopped having diarrhea. Something in the ingredients is bothering our dog, and based on the reviews, it appears that other dogs are having similar health problems.

Keep an eye out for those made in Mexico
3/5

It's not true Smartbones if you get Smartbones that look like the ones on the left and are made in Mexico. These have the appearance and odor of stale artificial candy. I've had to request a refund three times now, twice from Amazon and once from Chewy's. Both companies have quickly refunded my money without requiring me to return them, so I believe they are aware that they have a bad batch and are simply trying to get rid of it. In addition, I have these auto-shipped and am disappointed that Amazon does not provide a replacement. With true Smartbones, you won't have any stomach issues.

This item is not manufactured in the United States of America
3/5

I used to buy these on a regular basis because they were made in the United States. However, my dog recently became ill after eating one, and I discovered that they are now manufactured in China! I'm devastated that I won't be able to obtain these any longer. A chewable raw hide bone made in the United States is extremely difficult to come by. It's such a pity!.

Sorbitol (an artificial sweetener) is the next ingredient
3/5

WHY? When did sweeteners in dog treats become necessary? In addition, sorbitol, a sweetener linked to digestive issues and commonly used as a laxative, should be avoided.
