Only one of them is functional. I've worked in the field for a long time. Pick up a car axle from a junk yard. It should be hammered into the ground about six inches above the soil level. There is no need for any cement.
On August 9, 2019, we purchased this tie out cable for our 58-pound husky mix. The line itself broke a few times along the cable's covering in less than ten months. Needless to say, the cable snapped, and we were outside playing with him at the time, which was fortunate because he is a runner. It didn't even snap because he didn't jerk on it hard enough. We bought another tie out from BD, and it's been holding up beautifully.
It shouldn't be an issue because this cord is plastic coated. I've had this cord outside without issue since we bought it (and that's in Wisconsin during the winter). It's too long to bring in and out anyway. To bring the dog in, I attach a leash. Remove the leash from the bag and connect it to the cable. (FYI- My leash has broken, but the cord is still in excellent condition.)
It's light but strong, and I bought it for my 55-pound dog because he's a fighter. It weighs half as much as my previous tie out and is just as strong. It is light enough to be carried by a small dog.

It was fun for a while. I bought a heavy 30 foot tie-down three months ago. out of the leash I was looking for a material that would be impossible to chew through, and this fit the bill. When I looked outside tonight, I was surprised to see my dog happily trotting through the yard; at first, I assumed he had chewed through the cable, but it turned out that the metal base of the connector had rusted, allowing him to easily break free. We bought a leash that could hold up to 125 pounds, but he's only 70 pounds. I don't believe he needed to pull that hard, and I'm disappointed by the anti-abortion crowd's reaction. After all, rusted metal isn't very long-lasting.
and up I have two of the most powerful pulling Pit Bull Mixes, and I've tried almost everything on the market to get them outside in the yard (one is a fence climber, and the other sprouts wings and flies over everything). We cable them while standing outside with them several times a day and then do leash work with them at the same time, but we CANNOT leave them alone for fear of them escaping, so - These are the ONLY cables that have ever worked, and they are AMAZING! Rugged, tough, and industrial-strength, and both of my daughters act as if they don't have anything on them. YOU MUST TRY THESE IF YOU HAVE A DOG OF A LARGE BRANCH!.
I have two pitbull black lab mix dogs, each weighing around 70 pounds. They enjoy running and playing, and as you can see in the photos, they twist these tie outs quite a bit. These tie outs aren't ruined by the way they're made, even with all the twisting they get on a daily basis. I've had this set for over four months and it works better than any other brand because of the casing and stronger cables. br>br>The reason I had to replace them was due to our fault because someone did not untwist them at least every other day, so they started to wear and the casing broke, rusted, and freys or in the winter due to upstate New York weather, the freezing causes them to crack easier after being twisted in the same spot over and over, but I still get 3 months or longer which is much better than any other ones and these are half the price. br>br br>br>If you look after them, they'll last a long time, and I highly recommend these tie outs.
After three months, there is a major issue. I had written a glowing review of this product when I first received it and thought it was perfect, but I now have to retract it and issue a warning: The cable tangles everywhere after a few months of use because it won't stay straight and forms spirals after spirals. After 5 months, the worst was yet to come! , the cable simply broke where it connects to the head, I nearly lost my pet, and catching her around was extremely dangerous! I tried to get in touch with the company, but there is no way to get a warranty claim: Their website is only useful if you want to see more advertised products and a sample of positive feedback! I'd have to pay a lot of money to return this item: I'm in Saint Lucia, and it was sent to me via courier from the United States. Don't put your faith in it! I never write a negative review unless I am certain of it!.
A faulty spring clip has been found. This was purchased for our 70-pound English Black Lab over the summer. We decided to give the cable a try while we were hanging out in the back yard because it appeared to be well-made, and my dog was no longer tethered. After a few moments, you'll be able to get out. She wasn't broken; she just wasn't attached anymore. I figured I hadn't secured it properly to her collar, so I tried again, this time keeping a closer eye on her. She rolled around on her back, and the spring clip simply opened up due to the pressure of her rolling over it. We threw this out because I didn't want to risk my dog's safety. br>At the moment, I'm using the LupinePet 3/4" Basics Extra- 30' LupinePet Medium and larger dogs require a longer training lead/leash. I've had nothing but positive experiences with that company, and the clip is effective. It is, however, a leash and not a tie. We won't be able to leave her alone on it. I'm hoping that BV will be able to resolve the problem with their clips. Meanwhile, we're still on the lookout for a cable tie-down. Clips that actually work are now available.
I attempted to make one out of expensive (local) hardware store parts, but it took him two days to break free. br>After that, I ordered this one because I liked how the wires were almost weatherproof due to the coating on the braid/strands/whatever. I ordered it a long time ago, and it's been in the rain, mud, and other elements since then, and it's still going strong! He managed to tie a knot in it in a few places, and some of the silicone coating came off, exposing the rust. For those who are curious, the area is 78 square yards or 65 square meters. br>Of course, this assumes there are no impediments, and the math is rough. There's plenty of space outside for a dog to run around, poop, and think. without the cops being called on you by your obnoxious neighbors BUY IT, I WOULD/WILL BUY IT AGAIN IF I NEED ANOTHER! br>br>.
I bought two in September and am looking to buy something stronger not even a month later because I have three lab/blood hound mix puppies that are 10 months old and weigh about 50 pounds each and have managed to break through these tie downs, so I need to find something stronger. I bought six of these just because they last longer than others I've bought that only last a week. I only tie my babies up at night and if I'm going to be gone all day, so I'm guessing these would only last a week or two if they were tied down for longer periods of time.
The item was dirty when it arrived, and one of the snaps on the cable had been cut off. The exposed cable wires cut my hand as I tried to open the plastic bag containing it. Take a look at the rust on the remaining buckle. The sticker even claims that it was inspected, which is hilarious. This is without a doubt the worst Amazon product I've ever received.
