Questions & Answers

The flea spray worked for a while, but the fleas reappeared after a few weeks. Is it possible that I didn't put enough effort into it? Is it necessary to spruce up my wood floors by spraying them? What's hiding beneath the mattresses?

We had an infestation, and knocking it out helped us get control, but it won't stop them. Follow the directions on the can, and yes, spray your wood floors because any cracks can be a breeding ground for larva. Spray where the walls meet the floor; this is critical; you'll also need to lightly spray sofas and love seats, as this is where eggs will be found. Now you must comprehend the life cycle of a flea colony: first, a flea enters your home via your pet, or you have flea-infested flower beds, lawns, or other outdoor areas. If you don't have a pet, you'll need to spray with a flea yard guard; if you do, you'll need to treat them with a good flea treatment, not some no-name garbage. When the flea protection is applied, it enters the bloodstream of the pet, and if a flea bites them, they will die within a short period of time. Now that the fleas have taken up residence, they will require food, which will most likely be your pet's blood or your own if that is all that is available, but they prefer animals. Fleas feed on human blood and lay their eggs in the carpet. wood floor cracks and wall-to-wall floor seams Larvae (worms) eat skin scale, dander, and other remnants that are abundant in your carpet and floor after the eggs hatch. Sprays and other poisons cannot penetrate the cocoon, so the larvae form a cocoon and begin their transformation. This stage is known as papa. Knock out will kill live young and adult fleas, larvae, and some eggs over the course of several weeks. The papa, on the other hand, are unaffected and will hatch miraculously only when a food source passes by, and can remain dormant for up to two years. Because the flea cycle takes about 6 weeks from egg to adult, you should reapply every 6 weeks. Vacuuming is also a good first line of defense in addition to flea control for your pet. A USC study found that vacuuming twice a week was enough to eliminate up to 96% of adult fleas and larva. As a result, you're most likely witnessing the hatching of the next generation. As I previously stated, we had an infestation, and knockout hit them hard, allowing us to live without being bothered, but I vacuumed 2- 3 times a week for 3 months will get that pet good flea control and turn them into the toxic avenger, killing any fleas that bite them and preventing them from laying eggs. Once the cycle is broken, regular vacuuming and flea control on your pet or in your yard will eliminate this small but powerful force. Good luck! If you stick to a good cleaning routine, you'll notice that you're getting rid of them week by week until they're completely gone. PS. If you have out-of-door furniture or an extra coach in the basement, knock out will take care of them because it contains a growth inhibitor. This means that a good percentage of fleas that hatch a few weeks after you applied Knock out will have their growth stunted and will never reach adulthood to lay eggs, but they will bite and die within a few weeks, which is the normal life span for fleas.

This is toxic to cats, according to my vet! What is the best way to get back? I haven't even attempted to open the package. ?

This spray was just mentioned to me by my veterinarian the other day. My house is infested because I was treating gnats that turned out to be fleas, according to the exterminator! She said I could leave my two cats at the clinic while I sprayed, but it's easier to get them out of the room for 2 minutes. It will take 3 hours to dry and vacuum. I'm really looking forward to today!

I live in a one-bedroom apartment and was wondering if I could spray the living room and then stay in the bedroom while it dried, or vice versa. ?

This is something I think you'd be able to handle. If at all possible, open a couple of windows. There is a odor to this, but it isn't unpleasant. br>This is a fantastic idea. Before and after spraying, be sure to vacuum. If there is a vacuum sweeper bag, throw it away or empty the contents of the container. You'll be able to get rid of any eggs that have been vacuumed up this way. If you haven't heard of Serestro collars, I would recommend them as well. Since using this spray and then the collars, I haven't had a flea bite.

Is this going to leave a stain on my mattress and microfiber towels? What's with the suede sofa?

It didn't leave a stain on my couch, chair, or bedspread. I sprayed them heavily, but not to the point of saturation. It works, but you should lightly reapply in about two weeks to ensure that any hatched larvae are caught.

STUFF. WORKS. We have several indoor cats, and after years of no problems, we suddenly had FLEAS, as in jumping on you as you walk in the door fleas, and the cats were scratching themselves silly. Our cats freely enter a screened-in porch but never venture outside, which is something we'd never noticed before. We're still not sure what caused the explosion; all we wanted to do was get rid of the fleas. Don't be discouraged if this occurs to you. THIS. STUFF. WORKS. br>br>Battle Plan for Flacide:
1. Vacuum your house thoroughly, then toss the vacuum bag or empty bagless bin outside in the trash. Not only will you not vacuum for a while afterward, but vacuuming beforehand will help to remove some fleas.
2. Unless you have a place offsite where your animals can be kept for hours, plan on doing your house in two sections. br>3. All critters should be moved to a different area to be treated. To keep the stuff out of that room, we taped around it, stuffed bags under it, closed the A/C vent, and opened the windows. Although it was a little excessive, it made us feel safer for them. This stuff reminds me of fogging, and you wouldn't do that with any living things in the house.
4. Follow the spraying instructions to the end, which should leave you at a door with your keys to leave the area for a while; make sure you get all furniture surfaces and underneath it, as well as all hard floors and the baseboard cracks. To prevent it from being inhaled or absorbing in my eyes, I wore gloves, an N95 mask, and goggles. It is specifically stated on the can that humans and animals should not come into contact with each other while wet. We waited a few hours, and it was completely dry when we returned. There is no odor, and it is not sticky in any way. We went into the cat's room, gave them all Revolution (captive audience, lol), and let them loose in the house. Then we finished the last room and taped the door/bags under it to dry while keeping the windows open. It only took a few more hours to finish. Observations: br>br>
1. It claims to cover 2100 square feet, according to the can. Well. Perhaps it does, and perhaps we were a little too heavy-handed. We continued spraying, but only used two cans on a 1500-square-foot area. Don't forget to figure out how many square feet of furniture there are. We didn't want to repeat the process. br>2. We had to do it twice, but only in the kitchen/dining area, around the baseboard/cracks (hence the warning about the hard floor/baseboard above). We didn't seem to hit those areas hard enough in the first round.
3. This will likely take the entire day. It took the better part of the day to prepare and spray X2, as well as move and treat animals and wait. The second round of hard floor baseboards, on the other hand, was significantly shorter. We waited several days, despite the fact that the can stated that vacuuming could be done once it was dry. We were extremely concerned about the presence of fleas.
4. Did it get rid of the fleas right away? A large number of them! Estimating 75-year-olds 80% of that day and into the next day The cats, too, were much happier the next day. There were no live fleas anywhere, including on the cats, within a few days, I would say. When we discovered dead fleas on the tile near the baseboards, where they had emerged from hiding and died, we knew we had done a good job on the baseboards. You might see the animals scratching for a while longer - Even if the fleas are no longer present, their bites will itch for days.
5. Is it long lasting? YES. We haven't sprayed since, but we've been using Revolution on the cats, and we haven't seen fleas or kitty scratching in almost seven months. They've been fine; in fact, the reason I returned to Amazon was to obtain the link for a family member's friend who is suffering from a flea infestation. It occurred to me that it had been nearly seven months since I had last checked. I went ahead and placed another order! I'd rather not have to deal with it ever again. br>br>In conclusion - This is useful if you're having a fleafest. Plan to do this over the course of a day or two, and to treat the animal(s) with Revolution or another flea treatment that is safe for them (not this!). Make sure you have enough to treat all of the furniture, as well as all of the floors and baseboards/cracks. Keep all living things away from the spray and wet product and get those $% *) fleas!.

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO GET! This is a must-have if you have a flea infestation
5/5

We tried almost everything to get rid of our fleas, but this was the only thing that worked. br>br>During the late summer, our German Shepherd introduced fleas into our home. I didn't realize she had fleas until I was scratching her and noticed a bite on her leg one day. When I turned her over to examine her body, I discovered two fleas on her stomach. I informed my husband, and after some discussion, we decided to treat the house as best we could with the resources we had. It wasn't all that bad, after all. I only found about ten on her, so we shouldn't have too much trouble getting rid of them, right? WRONG! We used 91% rubbing alcohol in a bottle with a few drops of dish soap and sprayed down the entire house—every crack and crevice. We vacuumed thoroughly On her, we used essential oils of Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, and Cedarwood. To be honest, all of those ideas were DUMB because they DID NOT WORK AT ALL. In fact, it appeared to be exacerbating the issue! br>br>So, after the "natural" remedies failed, we went to the store and bought flea carpet powder and bed bug spray. A lady who worked at our local hardware store recommended bed bug spray for flea problems. Despite properly ventilating and wearing masks, we sprayed down the entire house and endured this HORRIBLE bed bug spray that made our eyes water, made us sneeze like crazy, and generally made us feel like we had insane allergies. So we sat and waited after all of that nonsense. What will you do tomorrow? Fleas. It's all around you. THANK YOU FOR NOTHING, LADY FROM THE HARDWARE STORE! br>br>When that didn't work, we resolved to do extensive research into what we needed to do to get rid of these nasties. We finally decided on Virbac less than a week later, after the flea infestation had worsened dramatically. I had no idea how quickly these things could reproduce and cause havoc in your home, with your pet, and with your family. We were DETERMINED to get rid of them, even though it was HORRIBLY HORRIBLY HORRIBLY HORRIBLY HORRIBLY HORRIBLY HORRI br>br>I was waiting for the Virbac to arrive in the mail with bated breath. My husband and I devised a strategy while we awaited the outcome. We'd start by treating the yard with Nematodes—that's right, NEMATODES. We made use of.

No fleas, at long last! This year, I was sick with leas
5/5

I ordered this after bombing the house and discovering live adult fleas only 3 hours later. On these reviews, I listened to the vets' advice. For my 850 sq. ft. home, I ordered two cans. I had a 500 square foot apartment and only needed one can. I vacuumed and used 50% bleach to clean the floors in my house. Then I sprayed it along all baseboards, under furniture, in closets, under couch cushions, and on the bottom of the sofa (yes, flip it over!). I also misted the cabinets and any other places where the pets sleep, as well as the areas around doorways and windows. The entire location can be completed in a single day. The bites came to an end in a matter of minutes. As other reviewers have stated, 3 weeks later I was bitten by a second wave of fleas (eggs left behind). These fleas, on the other hand, are unable to reproduce. I resisted the temptation to reapply the paint. It was a small number of fleas, and they all died in less than a week. We haven't had any fleas in over two months. I flea comb the pets on a regular basis because I am allergic to fleas, and so far there have been none. This is by far the best product I've ever encountered. br>br>Note: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "creative After the spray dried, I gave the dogs Capstar and Advatix II and the cats Advantage II, as well as a mixture of Borax, salt, and diotomaceaous earth on the carpets.
