Questions & Answers

Is this antibacterial and antimicrobial at the same time? My Tzu is itching a lot, has black spots on his stomach, and is red-eyed. Paws that are stained and itchy. Thanks! ?

My poodle has a black tummy and yellowish crud on her paws for some reason that I don't understand. She was also dripping from her armpits and tummy. This was purchased based on an Amazon customer's recommendation, and it proved to be effective. She doesn't scratch, but she smelled awful until we reintroduced it. Previously, I had spent hundreds of dollars at the veterinarian and was still having issues. Finally, a successful solution.

Is this a greasy solution?

No, it's not oily, and it's great for preventing yeast, itching, and chewing. This product comes highly recommended by the dermatologist who treats my dogs.

Is it possible to use this on the pads for the dogs? I have a canine companion who suffers from horrendous red feet. ?

I wouldn't use them on the pads of a dog. It's far too simple to remove. I'd get a topical cream or spray from your vet and have the dog wear booties until things improve.

Is it possible to use this product to clean a pet-infested room?

This is for use on pets who have skin problems.

My Choc lab mix, whom we adopted from a local shelter a year ago, has massive skin issues, and after a few vet visits that cost us $300-$400, it was easy for us to see why he'd been in and out of pounds
5/5

We spent $400 on pills and medications to try to treat his issues, and treatments were ineffective. Unwilling to subject him to constant medications (including antibiotics and steroids to control his issues every three months) and completely unwilling to give up on our new boy, we went looking for an effective way to treat his issues. br>br>For information - His skin problems were an outbreak that looked like ring worm, but it wasn't fungal in nature, and our veterinarians said it was a microbe issue. Due to his skin's bacteria attacking hair follicles and any minor scrape or irritation, he developed scabs and hair loss. It caused black scabs to form, which would fall off, taking clumps of hair with them and leaving bald spots behind. Although he had some random areas on his shoulder and flank, it mostly appeared on his chest to groin area. We discovered that the scab's weeping nature caused it to spread, and that one scab could cause an outbreak in a given area. Iodine helped slow the spread a little, but it was a losing battle unless he was dunked in an iodine solution every day. br>br>Our veterinarian attempted to assist (I adore my veterinarian, he's a fantastic guy!). We tried a product called Butler Phytovet CK antiseptic shampoo (also available on Amazon) that she recommended. No luck. It, like iodine, helped slow his outbreaks but was incapable of completely controlling and curing them. I discovered the Douxo line of products after ten months of steroid treatments, food swaps, and experimenting with various shampoos and sprays. br>br>At the moment, we use the Douxo Shampoo (once a week after his Sunday morning at the dog park), the Douxo spray (mid-week), and the Douxo shampoo (once a month after his Sunday morning at the dog park). as a *top-performing* employee for a week up* for his treatment, and on days when he doesn't get the shampoo or spray, any problem areas are treated with Douxo wipes (available on Amazon or other good online pet-supplier sites). (Chewy. ) stores com, and so far, our treatments have not only quickly cured any outbreaks (within a week of a scab forming, the area is healed), but they have also significantly reduced his outbreaks. He's been on our treatment plan for a month now, and for the first time since we adopted him, he has no current skin issues. br>br>We tried many things to resolve his issues, and the reason it took us a year to finally resolve the problem was because we tried diet changes first, and as any good pet owner knows, you need to change a diet for at least two months to get a correct read on any changes. We started with Orijen dog food (one of the best brands on the market), then switched to Honest Kitchen (another great brand), and finally to a locally made product after months of *wait and see*. Then there were the different shampoos (oatmeal / aloe) and medicated shampoos. br>br>I'd like to point out that Orijen and Honest Kitchen are fantastic foods that we've raised dogs on with no problems, and I don't believe that food was the cause of our boy's skin issues. I only bring it up so that you, the reader, know that we did everything we could to try and control his skin issues BEFORE we looked for a medicated skin product. We've found the Douxo product line to be a lifesaver. The initial investment of about $60 has easily paid for itself. Because he only uses shampoo and spray once a week, we still have at least half a bottle of each, which should last us two months. The pads (we bought two packs) are used daily and last about a month each (since I don't use them two days a week). So in terms of cost, it's about $30 per month for our dogs treatment (keep in mind he's a 105lb ball of energy, so your mileage may vary depending on your pup's size). It's a good deal to pay $400 for a three-month vet bill. br>br>I'm not saying this product will cure everything and put an end to your search; I'm just saying we've had a lot of success with it and can't say enough good things about it. If you're looking for something to manage and treat a stubborn skin issue on your dog (or cat) like we were, toss this in your cart and give it a try. At the very least, drop a few bucks on the pads and try them out first if you're skeptical; the worst that can happen is you don't get the same great results we did and move on to another product. br>br>In the end, I'm confident you, reader, will find a product br>br>(Please see my previous reviews; I rarely review products and never with such a large amount of text. ) This product has been such a blessing to us that I've taken the time to write this in the hopes that it will be of assistance to other pet owners and their animals. )br>br>TLDR (Total Length of Response): It worked for me, so give it a shot!.

I really like this spray
5/5

Our dog has allergies, so we put him on Apoquel for almost a year, and it worked wonders for him. We didn't want to keep him on an expensive medication with irreversible side effects for years. br> After a number of failed attempts at other natural remedies, we've finally discovered something that works. br> He's been on allergy immune pills, coconut oil, and Duoxo products for almost two months. He still scratches, but not nearly as much as when he wasn't on medication. He's acting as if he's on a high-priced drug like Apoquel. br> I strongly suggest this product because we are extremely pleased with the results. It may not work for everyone, but it seems to be working well for our pet. br> I'll keep him on these products as long as they're effective.

Aids in the treatment of my dog's chronic allergies and bacterial infection
4/5

I have a senior dachshund/shihtzu mix who suffers from skin allergies and suffers from bacterial folliculitis on a regular basis. I work in a grooming shop, and I've had clients bring in this brand of chlorhexodine shampoo, and I've noticed a significant improvement in their dogs' skin over time, so I decided to give this shampoo spray combination a try on my dog. It's a fantastic shampoo. It's gentle, doesn't have a strong odor, and speeds up the healing process for lesions. I've been using it on a weekly basis and haven't had any new pimples since I started using it. My dog gets spots or scrapes from time to time, and I'm sure the spray is helping her skin condition as well. My only complaint is that the spray makes her coat look greasy and dirty, which makes me hesitant to tell people I'm a dog groomer (if I have to use it for an extended period of time). ) However, she appears to be much happier and is rarely chewing or scratching, so I believe it is well worth the money and would strongly recommend it.

My cat's skin allergy was effectively treated
5/5

Because my cat has fiv, she is more susceptible to bacterial infections. infections caused by fungi She has recently developed a rash or skin allergy, as I would describe it. Her coat was thinning in places, her skin was bumpy, and she was constantly scratching. She was depressed all of the time. Because the vet couldn't see my cat until the following week, I decided to order a couple of chlorehexdine products to see if they could help her. br>br>Chlorhexidine is an excellent antiseptic. a bacterial agent that is beneficial to both cats and dogs I gave my cat a bath with Chlorhexidine and then sprayed her with this Duoxo spray after her coat had dried. br>br>When she began licking her coat, I had to restrain her for about five minutes until the spray had dried. It takes a short time for the spray to dry. This spray does leave a residue on my cat's coat, which is a disadvantage. My cat has a long coat, so I don't think this will be an issue for cats who have shorter coats. This disadvantage is acceptable to me because my cat's rash is completely gone after just one application. The efficiency with which it worked pleasantly surprised me. After the spray had dispersed and dried, she began to lick her coat. I was a little concerned, but she appears to be fine. Vets recommend this spray for cats with skin allergies, and it has had no adverse effects on my cat. There's also no discernible odor. br>br>My schnauzer suffers from skin allergies from time to time, and I'll be using this spray on him if that happens. I think I'll keep a Chlorhexidine wash and spray on hand at all times now because they're safe and multi-functional. Both cats and dogs will benefit from these products. I'm thrilled that after using the product, my cat was able to find relief so quickly.

Is it hazardous to the environment? The producer has responded to the situation
4/5

Because chlorhexidine sounds dangerous, I checked with the manufacturer to see if it was safe for my dog to lick the area after I used it. Here's what they say: "All of the ingredients in our Douxo line are non-GMO," says the company. toxic. However, until the product has had time to dry, we recommend that the pet refrain from licking the area. If you do eat something, keep an eye out for GI distress. Please contact us if your pet develops symptoms so that we can report it and discuss our options. "br>To be honest, I'm not sure it's very effective. I just didn't want to kill my dog while testing it out.
