Because it has a tight fitting lid, I use one of those tall plastic containers used to store Christmas wrapping paper. Also, when I wash them, I put about 3 small scoops of generic oxyclean in the washer tub, and they always smell great, even after several years of use. I've also used the dryer with no issues.
Vinegar works well for me when it comes to getting rid of urine odor. I always use vinegar to wash puppy blankets that have been soaked in urine. It's far superior to using just detergent.
I've never used fake grass, so I can't say whether or not these pads are superior. My dogs, on the other hand, prefer to walk on these pads rather than the carpet. They're thick enough to prevent urine from passing through. They've exceeded my expectations.
I wait until I have three or four and then throw them in the washing machine with regular detergent. My machine has a "sanitize" cycle, which uses extremely hot water. I've been using washable pads for a year and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. In the machine with the pads, I occasionally pour vinegar. After washing a load of pads, I give my machine a quick bleach rinse to disinfect it. That may be a bit excessive, but I don't want to wash my clothes unless my washing machine is spotless.

This was purchased to go underneath an IRIS 4 panel animal playpen. It's soft and protective, but I should've ordered the next larger size because it frequently gets hung on the panel and wrinkles, exposing some of the floor. Aside from that, I'm extremely pleased. If you found this review helpful, please mark "Yes. " When I make a purchase, I rely on the opinions of others to make an informed decision, and it is my goal to assist others in doing so as well. My piggies sleep in a large rabbit cage that is 17x40 and spend the day in a kiddie play pool with a fence around it, which is so much better than fleece and completely cost effective. 3 ft in diameter. I was using carefresh bedding and a litter box, which my boars used for pee and poo about half of the time. Although the carefresh absorbs odors, it is dusty. Then there are the whelping pads. WOW! I PURCHASED a 36-inch pad and placed it in the kiddie pool's bottom. It's soft and gentle on piggie feet, and all I have to do is scoop up any poops with a small plastic sand scoop and place them in the litter box. Pee is quickly absorbed, and after a week, there is still no odor. br>I washed the pad in cold water and dried it on low heat, and it came out looking brand new. So I got the slightly thicker paw print pads, which fit in one of my travel cages and two of their night home cages. br>Each morning, I simply use my toy shovel, which is fantastic. Because I was able to find carefresh bedding on sale, I only use it in the litter box. br>In general, these keep the cages looking clean and fresh, and I believe it is preferable to use less paper bedding. It's less expensive than fleece and, in my opinion, more absorbent. EZ whelp is to be thanked for this. Piggies now have a fantastic new home supply source. The photos show a bog cage, a travel cage, and a pig pool. as well as one of my boars.
We ordered the 72"x72" whelping pad and are very happy with the high quality and nice color of this product! I was a little hesitant at first because of the apparent high price, but I really like this pad. I'm including photos so you can see how it looks with a box our size, which has just enough room to hang out around it. On our wooden floor, it also glides smoothly beneath it. It has served as an excellent barrier against messes on anything beneath it. You can't go wrong with this whelping pad if you're looking for a nice whelping pad. The light color on the pad comes from a reflection in my window. The color and quality are both excellent. )br>br>Recently updated: We've used it several times and machine washed it on the "sanitation" cycle, and it still looks great! We've also run it through our dryer's sanitation cycle. I currently have three and would like to place an order for more. "EZ" whelping is the name that says it all!.
I have a 90-pound large Doberman who is disabled. I purchased two of these mats, one measuring 72" by 72" and the other measuring 40" by 60". I purchased these as well as a dozen other brands and sizes of mats because I wasn't sure which sizes or brands would work best. The smaller pad worked great for the first year after she became disabled because she made no effort to move around and instead happily demanded that we wait for her hand and food. However, she has decided that we aren't waiting on her long enough in recent months, and she has begun to move around a lot. Suddenly, the larger mat is the only one in the house that can keep any leaks from spreading. As she moves around, all of the smaller mats are pushed aside, and she's soon laying on the new carpets, dripping all over them. As a result, I've decided to buy more of the same size pad. br>br>Having owned this and several other brands of mats, I must say that both of the mats I purchased from this vendor have exceeded my expectations. As a result of her disability, my girl is prone to uti and bladder infections. Because of her circumstances, she contracts more unusual bacteria, which makes diagnosis and treatment more difficult. This frequently results in a great deal of leaking and a loss of bladder control. br>br>Waterproof mats were not available from two of the brands. Those were quickly tossed in the trash. br>br>Three of the mat brands slide around on the carpet; stick to her jackets' velcro and lift the harness; Except for the edges, the outside fabrics and the inside batting/water proof fabric are not sewn together. We still use those, but only as a last resort because they are a real pain and weren't worth 75% of the price of a good mat on. br>br>The rest, including the mats from this brand, have been excellent. All of them are washed one at a time. 3 times a week, in warm to hot water, tumble dried warm, or hung over the porch railing They have no odor. They're easy to wash and dry, and when we need them to be, they're still waterproof. They are simply easy to work with, and I am glad I spent the extra money to try them out, which I almost didn't after discovering the ones we despise were significantly less expensive. br>br>Of the various mats I liked, this was one of the more affordable brands. So, if you're still not convinced, give it a shot. You'll see why it's worthwhile to spend the extra cash right away. To be honest, these mats have already paid for themselves, given how much I spent on disposable mats. And, since my girl shows no signs of slowing down or giving up anytime soon, I'm returning to this page to save money and time by purchasing several more of these mats. br>br>I'm a very satisfied customer.
This is a fantastic product that I'm using as a puppy pen liner. We have a crate, but we'd like to give our puppy some room to play during the day while we're at work. Even when a whole bowl of water spilled on it, this pad kept my hard wood floors dry. Is there a waterproof backing? YES! Although the color isn't particularly appealing, it serves its purpose admirably.
