Scratching his face and chewing his feet are the most common symptoms he exhibits. By putting him on a limited-ingredient diet, he was able to control his food allergies. Antihistamines were required to treat seasonal allergies, which began in April and lasted until November. Last spring, my veterinarian persuaded me to try the immunosuppressive medication Apoquel, which seemed to work like magic at first, as my dog showed no signs of allergy. My dog then developed a histiocytoma (a benign tumor) on his lip after a few months on the medication. Puppies and young dogs are the most common victims of this affliction. My dog was four years old at the time. These usually go away on their own after a few months, which is exactly what happened to me - (With the exception of a trip to the vet to confirm that it was a histiocytoma and not a more aggressive tumor), it was no big deal. My dog began chewing on his right front leg, near the point where the leg and body meet (his front "armpit," if you will), several months later, while still on Apoquel. In addition, he was shedding profusely - There's a lot of it. On his right front leg, he developed a large area of hair loss as well as red, angry skin. He wasn't going to let it go by without a fight. This occurred after allergy season had passed. I bought a sleeve to keep him away from it and took him back to the vet. She performed a skin scraping to rule out bacterial infection, yeast infection, or mange, all of which were negative, and then recommended adding prednisone (another immunosuppressant) to his Apoquel and Zyrtec regimen. I informed her that I had done some research on Apoquel and that some of the side effects included histiocytomas and demodectic mange. I informed her that I was going to wean him off of the Apoquel (which would take a few weeks). She suggested that I try a dose of Bravecto, a flea and tick treatment that is also very effective in treating demodectic mange mites, just in case the negative scraping was due to a low mite population. His skin calmed down within a week of switching him from Apoquel to Bravecto, and I noticed that his entire coat was thinning at the same time - After he got off that nasty drug, his fur took a few months to grow back, especially on his right side. Before allergy season began this year, I decided to do some research on allergy supplements. Because of all of the positive reviews and the company's reputation, I chose Zesty Paws. I began giving them to my dog in March, and despite the fact that we are well into allergy season, he has not displayed any of his typical allergy symptoms. Also, his coat has returned to its former glory!.
When we first met her a few years ago, she had to have all of her remaining teeth extracted because they were in such bad shape. She gnawed, chewed, and scratched all of the time. It was beyond the reach of Benadryl. After doing a lot of research, I decided to go the natural route rather than taking prescription medication. So I did some more research and came to the conclusion that these would be the best option. They are LuLu's absolute favorite! She eats it all up, thinking she's getting more 'cookies. ' We began with a 12 tab three days ago and increased to a full tab today (based on the manufacturer's weight recommendation). We've already noticed significant progress! She is barely scratching. The areas where she scratched herself raw (and there was some bleeding) are almost completely healed. The swelling is completely gone. Her hair and skin are incredibly soft, and she no longer has dry, flaky skin. We're ecstatic that she's found such wonderful relief. The cost is very reasonable. Given the results we're seeing, I'd gladly pay twice as much! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,.
Because Goldendoodles are known to have a lot of allergies, I started with Benadryl and then Zyrtec when my pup began chewing and scratching himself to death. Neither was of any assistance. Then I tried Ultra Oil, a blend of essential oils that he liked but didn't stop him from chewing and scratching. He began to irritate his skin, so I went online and found these chews, which had a lot of positive feedback, and I was ecstatic! They didn't help him because he didn't like the way they tasted. I was running out of options! Then I started including coconut oil in his diet, and I noticed a difference in just a few days! Then I came to a halt to see if it was the coconut oil, and he began scratching once more. It went away after I gave him some coconut oil. Before you spend money on these, I'd suggest trying coconut oil.
After reading about Apoquel's long-term effects, I came across these and decided to give them a try. Our dogs' allergies and hair loss have significantly decreased as a result of these bites and Quecertin. br>br>I had to re-order these because my dog had been on them for a long time. Before I went on a long trip, I ordered (or thought I did). I sent the new ones to boarding with my dog when they arrived. When I returned, there were few left, and I realized my dog had stopped eating them, despite the fact that he had previously devoured them. The new batch appeared to be slightly different, but I assumed this was due to the fact that they were brand new. br>br>When my dog started completely refusing them, I emailed Zesty Paws to see if they had changed their formula or something because my dog had devoured them with ease, eagerly anticipating them each day. Customer service responded to my email the same day (5 stars!). ) and they informed me that instead of his usual lamb flavor, I had requested peanut butter. I had no idea there were multiple flavors; I assumed I had simply reordered the same thing. br>br>Customer service even went above and beyond by offering to send me our regular lamb-flavored ones. That is, without a doubt, 5 star customer service. Other businesses should pay attention to how Zesty Paws treats its customers. I felt compelled to write this review because the product is excellent (even though I recently discovered that my dog does not enjoy peanut butter). He's already a picky eater who isn't particularly interested in food) and their customer service is by far the best I've encountered on Amazon. I'm a loyal customer, and I've just placed an order for the scoot away bites for our small dog who has anal gland issues. br>br>Thank you, Zesty Paws; keep up the great products and excellent customer service!.
